1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD
Wtf...
Build is good, don't be a fool. It is a great learning build. |

this build is nice. With a good 2 hand mace 400+DPS you can reach >10k damage on ground slam, >15k on Heavy strike. Can go up to 15K ground slam on 6link. or even 30K if you got some super super good equipment like 600+DPS mace and others.
Of course it is not as strong as other cookie cutter build that nukes everything in a map with 6 people party (CoCS ceaseless discharge anyone?). But considering the build's SIMPLICITY AND COST, it is very good. Noobs dont know about how the mechanics of this game. They need time to learn all the complicated things in the game before they can theorycraft themselves. They need time and few experience to realise the importance of health nodes, crit nodes, multiplier nodes, charges and some efficient and popular route in the skill tree like how popular and good marauder life nodes are. This build provides both the fun in learning the game, while also guides them in making a good character that is viable end game. So they dont have to learn it the hard way, by failing to progress through merciless and had to reroll a new character. This is what I experienced with this build. I learned a lot with it, and still love it to this day. My marauder is already LV83. 4.3k life. 5 link Ground slam 11K DPS 4 link Heavy strike 15K DPS

for ground slam, I like multistrike more than using faster attacks. I can link multistrike with faster attacks and replace the weapon elemental damage in the five link, but the mana cost is too high per second, faster than the rate I can leech back the mana. Changed the passive tree to fit more of my playstyle, more DPS by going to the Duelist tree. And some 30+ nodes here and there for gem requirements.

current tree my ideal tree. Getting berserking and 34% increased health node near ranger tree. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS GUIDE. Cendol memang sedap. Последняя редакция: cendol3D#0256. Время: 12 янв. 2014 г., 20:22:38

There is one problem that I can see with your build. You say it is only STR, yet you recommend Faster Attacks with Ground Slam. Faster Attacks requires 109 DEX at max level. How do you plan to get this DEX?

" Some players spend some points on nodes that are close to the areas that they are spending points in. Like picking up Quickness which gives +30 to dex. Although there is nothing wrong with that it still is better to get it from the gear. With the right choices in gear you no doubt could get more than enough dex and still have good life and resist to get the job done. |

" I see after this reply it would be pointless to say anything further. Because you cannot prove that this build will not perform like it is intend to perform. It is not a cookie cutter build that destroys everything so fast that makes players heads spin. Where you have everything optimized and your gear costs 20 exalts per slot. This is not a build that will trivialize the content. It is not the absolute best build in the game. If players are not looking to learn the mechanics where they can theorycraft on their own. If they are looking for a build that dominates the content to the point where it is trivialized then they need to look at another build because this is not the build for them. For copy and paste monkeys they need to look elsewhere. This is a build that helps new players learn the ropes of the game. After they learn that then they can start theorycrafting and make this build into the build that they want. Because this build will teach them things like the following; the importance of life nodes, resistances, crit nodes, multiplier nodes, charges, etc... At the same time it is a cheap build as well. In fact many here in this thread have changed their build to optimize it for their own play style. You have to learn the basics before you get to the advanced stuff. And that is what this build does quite well. Now crawl back under your rock. |

Damn I just can back after 5 months of no poe. This was my first build and I'm glad to see its still going strong. It really helps with learning the game mechanics and while its not the most face roll build out there is pretty damn good and eventually with a bit of extra currency this build becomes great at ranking with decent dmg. Just wanted to give it props cuz I know a lot of ppl are hating on it.

Well I have a new chest I picked up and was lucky to have 6L it.
35% damage reduction, 28% evasion unbuffed, 4.6k life, 11k GS unbuffed. I can run 3x auras if using BM gem, or gain 5KDPS if group is full of auras by switching to added fire gem, and I can still run 2xauras. Once I can get higher DPS mace I I'll be set. |

" I don't understand what you mean by getting it from your gear. Is this always a guarantee? Because my level 54 marauder only has 35 dex and it's not enough to use even a lvl 1 faster attacks gem. This is a problem for me because now I can only use 4 red sockets and not 3r1g. And when I do get a 4r1g, I won't be able to use it |

" Dude, if you want attack speed, go for multistrike. It is a RED gem, and scales on STRENGTH. You dont have to be so rigid and follow everything EXACTLY like the guide, be more flexible. And the mana consumption per second is far lower than linking it with a faster attacks. edit, maybe its better I show it exactly how I did when I was your level and got some Dexterity problem. yes, It was low at the time. My link are as follow Heavy strike+Melee physical damage+Added Fire+Weapon Elemental Damage Ground slam+melee physical+added fire+weapon elemental use Hatred aura and level it until you cannot level anymore due to not enough dexterity. Always have a Mana potion handy when you need it. Use warlord mark or any accessory with % Physical damage leech as mana to lessen mana problem. If you got a 5 link. Instead of Faster attacks, use Multistrike. Invest a couple chaos for it. it is well worth it. There you go, no green gem, so no need to worry on DEX requirement. Cendol memang sedap. Why'd you put 2 points in 1h dmg+life near Blood Magic? Is it really worth 2 skill points for 6% life each? It looks like there's more life to pick in the Templar tree, if you just take 2 strength nodes to get to it.
Also did you mean to get water dancing? 20 dex and 18% 1h dmg, but the 1h dmg is wasted so it's really just 20 dex. I assume this is to meet the requirements for skill gems? I didn't noticed this before. Why not get the 30 dex node in the templar tree instead? Also not sure why you get the 12% 2h dmg node on the very bottom, as well as the +10 str node before it. Seems like that could save 2 points and would free you up to grab more health or get the 2h dmg nodes across from Unwavering Stance. Just my 2 cents. |
