Some of the people commenting here, if you invite them over for your brithday would tell you "you are a useless c$@# and you haven't done anything worthwhile all year so how dare you celebrate a birthday" It's supposed to be a positive topic. If life is making you this angry, time to go see the psychologist. It is just an award from a small publication in a small population corner of the world. But I posted it here for those that love and support the game. My thanks to those that added their congratulations to GGG. These are the people that understand how social interaction actually works in reality IMO. |

Well deserved - congrats GGG!
Whatever I think about parts of the game that are mechanically flawed (desync) or flawed-by-design (crafting/orb droprates & solo play map system), there's a reason I've spent a few hundred hours playing PoE - it's far and away the best ARPG I've played since Diablo 2. It's definitely my favorite PC-only game that I've played in several years. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard

" Ever thought that he deletes dead HC characters? Can you find my 3 higher dead characters, without checking older race ladders? Can you restore CB characters? Or do older players believing that PoE end+late game turned really bad have to show those ones: ? In fact I consider the drop rates horrible too. Earlier I could counter that with powerful vendor receipes but now? Yeah..... No Lifing and RMTing without consequences. His second point is correct too but I disagree with his third. While I understand that the game should be based around rares and some uniques should be build enablers the unique design is really poor. It doesn't look like that the unique creators ever played Classic D2 or D1. I am not talking about LoD. Do you think it's a good design to create uniques that will be thrown away 5-10 levels later? There aren't many useable uniques over many levels. You need more uniques like Goldrim and less uniques like Voidhome. Some uniques could easily gain more uses with slight changes. Such as Quill Rain being a acceptable Elemental Hit bow without the 50% less weapon damage-->2 purposes instead of only 1 skill. Rare elemental damage bows certainly will still beat it easily. But the 50% malus makes it less useable than a white 1.55 APS bow. Bramble Jack could would be an excellent Reflect Build item if mobs had proper scaled damage. But a3 merciless+maps are scaled in a way they would kill 90+ characters what kind of poor design is this?Better said it's just like playing lethal mod in normal. Having over 74% physical reduce 75% fire resist and getting 2 shot by the Hedge Mace Devourer on point blank with jade+granite flask being active? Create a Lethal league for those players who believe that such mechanics mean difficulty. Difficulty is something that means that you have got a feeling of chance and not that "If you touch it you die" Other uniques are so incredibly rare so they will be RMTed. Or massive changes in balance rendering some uniques totally useless such as Sin Chol or Dark Scorn(But Lioneyes got much stronger...) Ever had the idea that this way of Prenerf for a future change pisses players off? There were prepared changes for something that came 2-3 weeks later. How about only changing challenge leagues? Sadimas Touch was a good nerf. Kaoms, Silver Branch, the Dragonscaleboots, Onyx amulets etc were bad ones. You could nerf items in a way without affecting the stats at all. Such as changing the Silver Branch base like with Death Harp and increase the level req. Support is another case. I believe in his case it's just that the support didn't understand what he meant. But still support works with standard answers and even lies. For example the RMT rule. People expose themselves as RMTers. And the standard answer is "We ban 1000 accounts daily" Do you believe people are that stupid? RMT boards show that you warn RMTers and they mock you. Those people don't get banned and at best take steps to go under the radar. Even more popular cases such as RG_Panko with a 9month late ban, is RMTing in standard now under an unknown account instead of being kept away. And he literally took zero precaution on RMT. Same goes for his friend buying Shavronnes on the RMT board. And Chris talks about China Farmers? Are you kidding? Everybody knows that RMT works this way: People sell stuff for Fools Gold, and sell Fools Gold for real cash. With the real cash they can buy support packs or do a living. Other item shops use Itemshopsuppliers who are RMT board users constantly buying stuff but have not a single character and a constant flow of fools gold. Those buy fools gold from the RMT players if they need some. And you believe in Taiwan/Thai/China Farmers?! China Farmers live like slaves and have several connections on the same ip or slightly different. PoE isn't popular enough to get China Farmers and you can clearly create groups of high tier player. If there would be China Farmers they would be high of the beginning of the ladder but in reality the first rare items come from Itemshopsuppliers and RMTing high tier players. |

" Ya, you do perhaps get more orbs for leveling characters (though it's still mostly RNG) but I did level 7 to 65 with 1 of those going to 89 and several going into the 70s this league, so that's already a lot of alts, not to mention all the races I do where I don't get any. RNG is just weird to me. In a 100 minute seed race the other day, I did not get a single whetstone (extremely important in races because of rustic sash recipe) nor did I get enough superior weapons to make one.. but I did get 32 portal scrolls X_X. " Na man its not just you.. Back in the previous 4 months leagues, the drops were amazing.. Sure you had to play A LOT in order to reap these benefits, but all in all the drops were great! It kept people wanting more.. Ever since release and the abandonment of the iiq gem, the drops have been trash.. Plain and simple.. I really, really, really hope GGG reconsiders the iiq gem and how it affected the players experience.. Players want AWESOME loot! That's what drives an arpg. When after 100's of hours played you are still dropping junk, people tend to find another game to play.. cough dayz cough IGN Ken__Kaniff

Let's not get carried away here with the 'game of the year' praising.
The more I play, the more frustrated I get with map boss difficulty, map boss drops, itemization, trading, scarceness of good drops, and harsh experience death penalties. A game worth of 'game of the year' should be addressing and/or already fixed these issues. GGG has a long way to go. There should be more posts pointing out the major flaws and shortcomings of this game. It has the potential. IGN: Ersteman/JimmyTsang

I suggested several times to adjust difficulty by leaving DMG on CB levels and adjust speed.
That's where you actually feel pressured and have a chance. But no GGG had to do the lazy ass one shot way creating bosses which will alway be one hit killers. So in fact all you do is play path of ranged and try not to get hit. I already considered that as an utter failure in D3. |
