Tool tip for the Thicket Bow gives higher DPS, but the Chin Sol seems much better, no doubt because of the 100% damage at close range, and it seems like the range is measured from the tornado shot impact point. Anyone know what 'Close Range' is?

If the Chin Sol is best, is it worth 6S'ing, and then 5/6L it?

I've been using the Rare for a while, and just found the Chin Sol...

Chin Sol is likely better, but on the long run I suggest investing into a harbinger bow. Crit is king with this build.

That is my plan, but I rarely trade (since I like self-found), and haven't found a suitable Harbinger yet...

Got an iLvl 80 Harbinger, and experimented a bit with crafting :-)

Now just waiting for Elreon to get to L8 (which will be a while)...

This cost me the usual amount of socketing orbs to get 6S/5L, maybe 100 Alts to get Tyrannical, 4 Blessed Orbs to get 50% Crit chance. Not too shabby, but don't think it worth building on either. I'll probably redo it later...

But yeah it is a nice spec. I've been switching between SA, Tornado Shot, Puncture and Frenzy all the time and it's really fun. And yes, I play in Beyond league (hardcore).

Anyone selling a harbinger? 350pdps and 8.5+ crit? 5 link (sorry can't afford 6l unless it's reasonable). Thanks!

how much mana leech do we need for this build? 2% or 4%? I have 2% but I still need to drink mana (I am not going to take mind drinker since I can get it on gear).

What's the sweet spot for crit chance on this build? Right now I am running 67.7%.

Also I was considering pulling portal/faster cast out and running Vaal haste solo with no ID and instead doing a HOT (in place of HOI) with a curse on hit, assassins mark link? Doable or will I give up to much losing HOI?

imo hoi is not necessary if you got a beast bow and 6l somewhere. tell us how it works out for you. oh and faster casting and portal is such a waste. just keep portal but faster casting you dont need.

My current gear is not really beast...and I am stuck with 2 5l's right now. Without beast gear is it advisable to give up HOI's extra freeze chance as another layer of my def?

how are you doing right now? dude your gear is GOOD! Nice bow! Try to 6L that chest too! But you really want a 6L to take your toon to the next level. I would focus on that the most. Dude I would buy your bow :P

I played this build for a little over a month now and it is by far the strongest build I ever played. I think that the most important piece of gear other than a decent harbinger is a Lightning Coil. This is the end result after trying many different gem/skill combinations.



I found that split arrow/chain works best to deliver curse on hit. HoL don't work so well with this build. HoA/Elem Prolif is magical. I'm currently lvl89 my tornado shot does 13k unbuff and 20k buff 58% crit chance. my puncture is 20k/31k 65% cc without charges.

I have graduated to level 75 maps I just hit 83 (was trying to use all my low level maps first). Reflect in maps is very difficult to handle I took one death and cleared about 75% of it, slow going. Single reflect bosses are not a problem, as I just pop and evasion flask and puncture the rare.

As far as a 6l on that chest goes, I have dumped every penny into gearing this ranger up. Down to 2 ex and farming my arse off trying for enough currency yo 6l chest. Work in progress in another 20ex I should be able to link chest. The only thing stopping me is I am not sure that chest is all that good or even worth linking.



Someone else recommended a Coil as a chest, Curious how that really benefits the build?
