Is Path of Exile the most expensive game you've played?
" Well, now (over a week ago, actually) it is 730 USD. :D Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Nope free. My Diablo 3 cash out money pays for all support packs.
Wish they had AH here so I could make more money to buy more game. D3 was good to me. Havnt bought a game or computer with my own money in years. Git R Dun! Последняя редакция: Aim_Deep#3474. Время: 24 дек. 2014 г., 02:17:02

Yup. "No ragrets"
There's a lot of things I don't agree with in Path of Exile, but the company that runs the game has really captured my loyalty (and wallet, apparently). I've been immensely impressed with the level of service and community involvement GGG provides since I found this game, and I very much expect to be doling out more $$$ in the future. Currently sitting around $1200 I believe. |

Yha GGG really found a sucker in me.
It is interesting however. since i have never before spent so much on a game OR since then ether spent even close to as much. Great marketing to a directed audince ? or just really bad ass game ? perhaps both ;) Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time
Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them. |

For me it is, but it is definitly worth it, and will I will continue to support it as and when I can.

Not counting MMO's, PoE is by far the most expensive game I've ever played.
Even counting MMO's it's a close call between PoE and DaoC. When I buy the next PoE supporter pack this will be the most expensive game I ever played for sure, and well deserved too :) |

I think it probably is, but Asheron's Call is a close competitor. MMO with a monthly fee, played all 14 years that it had a monthly fee, and had multiple accounts during most of that time. Worth every penny.

It's still up, but without a monthly fee. Check it out.

If we count MMO fees, then no, I have spent substantially more in the first eight years of WoW in form of subscription fees. Plus a bunch for cosmetic items, name change fees, server transfer costs, and race change fees. I think I've also spent more on Ultima Online, particularly if you count phone bills (no free calls or flat rate internet plans back then; I paid $1000 in the first month of release!),
If we only count F2P games, then I think my founder's package and some vanity items for Neverwinter cost a little more than what I spent on Path of Exile. As far as entertainment in general goes, POE is pretty cheap. 1500 hours, about $600 for packs and other stuff, equals 40 cents an hour. Most "normal" games I play cost $50. 50/0.4 is 125, and I can say that very few games give me 125+ hours of entertainment. Even books cost me more than twice as much. So overall, no, it's not been an expensive game to play for me. In fact, it probably saved me a lot more money because I didn't buy other games nearly as frequently. |
