Bandits Quest needs reworking I think

I really don't like the idea of having to permanently choose the reward of this quest...

I've worked hard on my Witch and right now she is lvl75...but the fact that I realized now that I made the wrong choice on the Bandits quest, makes me feel like it's pointless to continue playing her.

Is it possible to change this quest so that you can redo it at any time to change the reward? I feel my character is ruined and I can't reverse it.
How can this one quest have gimped you that badly 0.o

I hope me taking the 8% ele resist, Passive point, TBD didn't screw me
I prefer skillpoints if you ask me, I don't think the other possible bonuses are worth it in my opinion.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

Unless you go CI, 40 life is always better than a skillpoint.

It really depends on your build and how set-in-stone you want your character to end up as. For some, that is the skill point. Others, it is the phys. damage, others its the HP, others need the added ___ charge.

If you kind of freeball your build to endgame the skill point is usually the best choice, but it isn't always the optimum.
For me it's skill point due to the fact I'm going to pass a node with 15% all resist. so that skill point is more useful than 8% @, also going CI so the 40hp would only help me getting through normal and some cruel before I get CI :P

edit: But I do agree that, unless you search for the quest on wiki you pretty much are unaware of the rewards and result of what you choose.

Well in any case, I took the resists on normal, noticing that 8% resist as a passive was hard to get, unless you were close to something like Diamond Skin (which I'm not). But as I got to the end of the game, I realized resists were easier to attain than I thought and now I wish I took the skillpoint.

I also took the 4% casting just because I realized most nodes gives less than 4% (with the exception of Nimbleness and one of the other nodes), but as I altered my build, I realized casting speed might not be as important to me as I thought...need to refund this choice as well.

Edit: And btw, I was perfectly aware of what the options were when I chose them, but I didn't realize how they would impact the build later on in the game...which is why I think they shouldn't make the choices irreversible.

Not if you're going Righteous Fire like me.

This is a central issue concerning the way the game is constructed.

I believe I understand how you feel - I havn't been as far as you yet, but I am concerned that I may have made a wrong choice with my lvl 63 character. However, having played other games that allow you to more easily redo choices, I know that this comes at a price.

The challenge of building a character becomes more rewarding if it is possible to make mistakes. If you can make a mistake, it means you can also get it right - if you cannot make mistakes, you also cannot get it truly right.

It also means that I can continue playing the game indefinitely, since I can theoretically remake my character over and over again, each time making him a little bit more perfect.

Obviously, it is impossible for the game creators to make the game in a way that suits everyone. I am a big fan of the way the game works and the fact that you get stuck with the wrong bandit-choice. But some people are frustrated, and some feel it should be easier to redo the passives aswell.

I guess that it may be changed if GGG judge that enough players feel the same way that you do. Possibly as part of a difficult quest that earns you a remake - a little like the way you get orbs of regret.

Meanwhile, I hope you can still enjoy your character - remmeber that very few people will be able to make a 'perfect' character. They will all have flaws, and even if you might have made a better choice somewhere, it's part of the game - for all of us.

Best of luck.
Even if you pick all 3 bandit quests wrong that wouldnt gimp your character beyond usefullness. Thats just a sensationalist way of thinking and its completely wrong.

I dont understand why people still cant understand this game is about choices and you live with the choices you make.

If nothing else, the merciless reward is quite good - i don't see any melee not picking another endurance charge...
