true. Graphic lag from parandus mobs is very bad. But in this video OP just showed he can't tank 50 parandum mobs. Damage wise parandus mobs are very good.

used to play at max resolution and experienced some sort of performance issues whenever a ginormous amount of effects come on. that of course resulted in deaths, sc no big deal.

after setting my resolution to some barebones minimum, 1280 x 800, it's alot better.

just a regular ice trapper here, no problems now with perandus chests (don't forget to cap your resists).

I already play on a toaster ok. I have a little Intel G1840 and a Nvidia GT730 and 4 gigs of RAM.

Thats nothing, thats not even 100$ of hardware... And i can play pretty much without any laggs, there are only 2 spots where my PC laggs (Grand Arena last room). Other then that im fine.

And in my friends house he has an Intel i5 and a GTX 750 and Samsung SSD.

He has all settings maxed out and he never gets a single lag.
Nothing. Same goes for another friend with a simular PC (I5 and GTX9).

I dont know what you guys are doing with your computers (gamers typically have no clue of computers, even if they think they have... they dont....), but this is 100% your fault.
It feels like GGG forgot to test Perandus packs against one specific type of build, non-SRS summoners. For other builds, they do a lot of damage but you can work around it and kite, but there's just no way at all to do that as a zombie/spectre/animate weapon summoner. All your summons die constantly, even if you run defensive auras and jewels (purity, enfeeble blasphemy, and minion resist jewels). There's just no way around it for summoners, since every Perandus pack spams tons of AOE skills at you.

The performance issues seem a little better now at least, but the design choices in perandus packs, where every mob uses an aoe skill, are very hard for summoners to deal with.

I had no problem with my classic summoner build, played all the way up to Tier 9 Maps.

I was using 7 Zombies, 2x Spell totem (Skeletons and SRS) and i was casting SRS myself.

I also used Necro with the % dmg reduction for your minions and you, and the caustic claud thing
when ur minions leave a chaos cloud when they die.

Zombies on a +2 Helmet, with Minion Resist+Minion Life+Fortify.

And ofc, Flasks that heal your minions.

All of this together, i actually had a real easy time killing perandus stuff.

Wow, this is one of the few times that I'm in the "just right" camp for Perandus mobs (chest guardians). I view their level of difficulty as spot on near perfect and have only died twice (once from lag and once from them being right at the entrance of a new zone and I couldn't run past them (I needed to Phase Run past them but wasn't equipped with it). Other then that having the p-mobs chase me around the map is great fun, even when the mobs have ST capabilities and can throw from a long distance. These chest guardians shouldn't be easy to mow down and the fact that the guardian master can resurrect more of them makes for insane fun. Sure you can't just charge in blindly and expect to survive but that's a major part of the fun in encountering them is the fact they aren't just another run of the mill white or blue mob that we can obliterate nearly instantly.

If many players are dieing much then they're either pushing too hard to kill them (taking too many risks), are not tanky enough, or are not playing as strategically careful as they should. For example, my first build in Perandus League is a 3 fire totem Magma Orb Templar and with Daresso's Defiance chest and Sentari's Answer shield my exile is mostly tanky enough to not die (once due to the only time I lagged out in a vary narrow cave passageway) but not so tanky that it's not a challenge. Now on my 2nd Perandus build I'm running a Blast Rain evasion Scion that is mostly a glass cannon (Merc act 4 with only 2K life but a lot of life leach and Val Pact) and I have only died once at the hands of a Perandus mob.

Sometimes you just have to keep killing the guardians at the edge of the mob long enough even though you can't get the guardian overlord to come out of the pack. There is a time limit and eventually the pack will disappear and you just need to outlast them with kiting and patience (this is the tough but not one-shot dead difficulty that I love with p-mobs).

So NO, p-mobs (Perandus chest guardians) are not over the top too much or too crazy or too hard. The stupid crazy and sad fact is knowing that we won't get them in PoE permanently and next league will be less fun as a result of their demise.

I know this falls on deaf ears but please GGG, don't exile Perandus out of PoE. He and his mobs are fantastic fun, not to mention his build enabling gear for sale. The summer of 2016 will be a lot sadder without him.  :(

I specifically said non-SRS lol. I played Animate Weapon and my summons died every time. I could have flasked more I guess, but my weapons died in 1-2 volleys from the P.Pack

Vaal Skeletons + Melee Splash, works like a dream.

You absolutely need Melee Splash on all your minions. Fight AoE with AoE.
