If you can, grab a Lifesprig for cheap - it makes the early levels faster. Start with Ethereal Knives and Fire Trap in your Lifesprig, and replace EK with Fire Nova Mine as soon as it is available.

At level 28 (or when you kill General Gravicius) pick up a set of Deer Stalker boots and socket Bladefall with Poison, Concentrated Effect, and Mine and Trap Damage. Pick up Ice Trap as well to start leveling it. The Bladefall trap will do crazy amounts of damage, and the faster cooldown of Ice Trap lets you throw 2-3 between each Bladefall trap.

Next I picked up Saboteur, Acrobatics/Phase Acrobatics, Master Sapper, and then Hasty Reconstruction (56 points):

I did the first Labyrinth around level 35, and picked up the Bomb Specialist node.

That should get you started. After that head towards the witch tree, picking up some life node any time you start feeling squishy. Don't put too many points into chaos damage until you've picked up your Consuming Dark daggers.


You dont get poison until level 31, bladefall traps wont reach its full potential till then
How do you reach such dmg...like 55-60k...I onlu have 9k buffed ;/...Do the + quality and 20 level matter that much ?

Yes.

And your Damage is gear dependend, even your jewels took a huge impact on this.

I'm running with 16K unbuffed (enfeeble/AA/Clarity) (~24k Buffed) with Controlled Dest, or 13.9K with inc crit (40% crit unbuffed).

My jewels aren't that good. with Proper jewels I'll reach 20k unbuffed. (I guess)

I tried to mimic the gear of the thread starter...I will have it ready at 70. I have no jewels at the moment , i will get them ready at 75-77...I will see then.

With correct crit version of the build and insane gear you can easly reach 50k unbuffed. Thats how much you get from crit multi alone and multi gems. Getting to 20k unbuffed with non-crit version is not possible without buffs.
With buffs i was around 35k lv 19 gems no quality. (W/ elemental overload throuth)

You have to pick between dps or survivability :S (or balance)

I keep looking for ways for this build to grab the extra power charges. There's a few things I feel aren't quite as efficient as the rest of the tree, like Doom Cast (4 points for 80% cc/45% multi, compared to 3 for Assassination with 70% cc/45% multi or Heartseeker which is 3 points for 50% cc/40% multi) or the two Trap Damage and Throw Speed nodes by Master Sapper. If you dropped those six points, you could grab the two extra power charges by Shadow and Witch, which gives another 100% cc, some duration, and a 24% increased to spell damage with all six charges up (including the +1 from Merc Alira). I'm not high enough level yet to try both setups and see which gives more damage but I think it's worth considering. If the charges ARE more damage then the biggest tradeoff I think would be the power charges would be less reliable, especially on single target.
Why do so few use a spell damage neck? It is not essential, but they are faily cheap and you can easy get 25%ish spell damage for a nice dps increase. It seems like a lot of people miss this. Also try get trap dmg enchant on belt (if room).

Feel free to give tips to my char. Probably a lot of room for improvement. Right now struggling with having enough strength.
