Since its ice damage if you increase their crit rate they freeze everything which is really good against porcupines as you negate its on death effects. Slows and Freezes in general are great utility to have. With Pierce and Faster projectile support they can clear just as fast as flame sentinels.

Idk if I am just imagining things but the AI seems to be even more aggressive than their fire counterpart. All I do is shield charge forward and they snipe everything in front of me.

I could also be completely biased against flame sentinels since I literally used them for years lol. I want something new =).

Thanks for the reply. Once I get a 6L, Ill retest and see how often the freeze procs. I guess on some map mods that have extreme damage incoming a freeze that procs often might be more valuable to me then raw dps.

Well, tbf, their dps is higher than a flame sent. As Matt mentioned they have high crit thanks to Ice Spear. Most of the time you will have 2-3 of the sents far enough behind you that the shots will be in the second phase which, by default, is a 49% chance to crit (7% base + 600% crit chance in phase 2). If you get yourself an Increased Crit Strikes gem at level 21 then that chance skyrockets to 71%. Add in an Ice Bite gem and you also gain a 15% chance to freeze. So, even if they don't crit their chance to freeze would still be exceedingly good considering the massive barrage they can put out. Personally, i use the Unending Hunger Jewels which grants them Soul Eater. You will definitely notice the difference as you speed through the map and if you rush the boss fast enough they will retain the massive speed buffs from soul eater. So, not only do Frost sents grant you a good def thanks to their high chance to freeze but they have really high dmg thanks to that crit chance. There was already a video showcasing them on a shaper run.
