GhazzyTV - Essence Drain & Contagion (or Bane/Soulrend) Trickster [SC/HC/Uber Elder/Shaper]

I'm pretty stumped about the best ways to increase my survivability. As soon as I got to T11 maps and alch + corrupted them, I keep getting one-shotted (it might be the curses...). Especially against the big legion mobs. I have 4.2k health, 2.2k ES, 8k evasion and pretty good gear (I think). I'm just running malevolence and discipline and EB + MoM, following the tree pretty close to build guide. I keep having to resort to toteming and then running away during legion fights.

Any ideas? I feel like there must be something obvious that I am missing.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried out using the historic jewels? Specifically, Glorious Vanity (Doryani), to get the Corrupted Soul keystone (20% of max life as extra max energy shield, 50% of damage bypasses energy shield). I'm currently testing it out as a possible way to improve survivability (especially for Legion mobs, which I'm having difficulty with).

Theory behind it is that a huge percentage of my recover comes from Patient Reaper, so bypassing ES is a slight benefit - getting double recovery (both life and ES) from Patient Reaper slightly sooner, while also providing a giant chunk of extra ES.

...not sure if there are any other easy ways to deal with Legion mobs, other than the typical 'more life / ES / dodge / evasion'. I should probably try out incorporating a CWDT - Immortal Call setup at some point...

(...I'm also very amused by the idea of grabbing 2-3 copies of the keystone, but I can't actually think of any use for it. 60% of life as max ES, but ES doesn't block damage. Maybe if there were some janky way to convert ES into armor or evasion?)

Could somebody explain/link on how to multimod a bow and how much it costs?

You might consider using solstice vigil, I am sure people are confused about this because temporal chains can be used in a few other ways. U can add it via asenath's gentle touch or Vixen's Entrapment Embroidered Gloves in the socket

you could blasphemy + aura it.

The neck I suggested increases the duration of flasks, it helps increase curse durations which is useful when u have applied a curse and run around a legion map like a headless chicken hoping stuff dies to dot. It also increases defensive things to like immortal call. One thing tho my survival in t16 was higher by having temporal chains in 2 places on my build and it's because the mobs can bite you in the ass so to speak while you have been attacking at range. You have just cursed temp chains in 2 area not one and made it far safer for you. During beast encounters temp chain on the aura is far safer to. I don't think my setup is the best by any means but another thing I noticed was on my witch going close to a mob after I had contagion + ed a weak mob then using flasks to move in fast as it spreads to the yellow pack this greatly increases my dps and ends up killing yellows far faster than if I was spamming a 6 link bane at range, so much so I can kill just as quick with a 20c wand than I can with a 9ex +3 bow. Ofc it's part due to my witch being able to explode things with profane bloom. If I spec into withering Presence tho which I was for a very long time stuff really started to melt fast if I go confident balls to the wall in melee range vs yellows. I have some further ideas but it involves using the glorious vanity rng jewel which when placed in the correct spot with the correct roll xibaqua.. you can get a node called divine flesh, this node might make witch so good for this as reaching the chaos cap would be expensive. You would most likely have to drop the +1 curses item to fit extra chaos res in so crafted gloves maybe or in my case as a witch I could drop the +1 boots for normal ones with chaos res, some on belt then some on a mix of ring or jewels to hit the cap. Helm can be an option but the bis helm isn't the gull at least to stay alive in t16 I think the bis helm is the -9% chaoes res one and you need to spread the dots for that to work well. So these are just my opions not facts if you found a better setup go ahead and share. I was goint o revist blight and self casting to proc the bubble forgot name while running my bow to see if I can destroy things a bit faster, after I dropped my totem setup in boots I found it harder on bosses even tho my pob dps wen't up a ton! so the effect from blight is kinder important to say the least. You can also get a node using glorious vanity that has a 25% chance on hit to apply wither, sounded cool don't think it worked very well tho unless it adds to the totems then.. maybe op

Improve your flasks. Check the flask setup from 1st post. The idea is that you are 100% of the time immune to bleed, freeze and curses. Also gives a ton of evasion and speed to manually dodge stuff and move out of the way.

For gods sake, MOD YOUR FLASKS!!!!. It is so obvious why you're dying. Look at my flasks and get those mods on your own, by using transmutes -> alterations until u ideally get reduced charges used, and then beast craft the appropriate mod on it. You need Freeze, Bleed, and Curse removal, and you need to be killing stuff fast enough to have those flasks have 100% uptime and USE them as close to 100% of the time as you can. Also, consider Basalt over Quartz.

Thinking about running this build. Is it good for bossing? If i wanted to try and do Shaper and Uber Elder this league with this? Would you recommend it? Otherwise what is a good bossing character?
What is the damage difference between Cane of Unravelling and the 6l bow?

if you buy it arround 7 EX,

if you craft it:

get yourself a 6 link bow above ilvl 50.

alt it until you got +1 socketed gems, regal it. annul it till you got a rare bow with only +1 socketed gems.

Afterwards you can multimod it. Costs for that are 2ex+2ex+ arround 75c incl. tip for crafter.


So if youre lucky you get get below that 7 EX for a allready crafted bow. Needless to say that you need the right colors aka 3b 2g 1r . this can also be pain in the ass ( or in my case get lucky and buy a 6l bow with allready that colors)

What's the verdict for standard, mom+battery, phase+acro, BOTH, or just filling out more HP nodes on the left side?

I have floating points but can't decide if spending 8 for phase is worth it. I am currently running MoM+Battery+Wicked Ward.
