[2.6] The Curse Whisperer - Tri-Curse CI Whispering Ice Elementalist - Viable for Everything
" thats what I'm doing. wouldnt call it "better", but it certainly has its advantages... maybe I'll post my gear and setup and the thought process behind it this weekend when I hit lvl 97. |

Didn't see it in the QA - brand new player.
Do I need this staff before starting the character to attempt the build or is it realistic to acquire it in a reasonable amount of time? Thanks. |
|
" The staff can't be used until level 33. You should equip it then, though -- don't wait! |

Buy it if you can afford it or else just level using whatever you have and farm prophecies till you get the Whispering Ice one. You can buy a low level one pretty cheap.

What ES and intelligence are people managing to achieve at level 90ish?
I'm at 7700 ES with a level 22 discipline, and just below 1500 int. I'm getting one shot in corrupted rare maps often enough that I'll probably not make 92 (unless I do boring Poorjoy rotations.) Am I missing something obvious in my build? Should I drop Doedre's and use a Perandus ring instead for more int and ES, giving up one curse? (Note I still haven't bothered to complete Uber lab, as I despise the labyrinth. One of the attractions of this build for me was that it didn't need all four labs done to be effective.) |

uuhmm. currently running a lvl 75 necro.
Feeling kinda squishy and dying on T7 maps. is it worth it to respec and gear with this? Thank you. |
|
" depends on how rich you are versus how much time to play you have. but if you're dying on t7s, you are probably poor, not rich. so respeccing a lvl 75 char would most likely be a total waste of currency. I would reroll as WI elementalist. the build is awesome and totally worth it. |

can someone provide suggestions on what to upgrade for my build? https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/jabberjabber2/characters
my budget is 2ex |

" You forgot the 'if you've killed recently' part ;) It's an option, an inferior version of Berserker's stun immunity while killing. But it does make you less safe against some bosses and in maps with lots of mods. You will need to bring certain flasks to certain fights (e.g. the Writhing Jar to the Chimera) and take extra care in other places that you never worried about with US (e.g. maps with Merveil). It's not really dissimilar to replacing WM aura with Flammability or replacing LL gem with another DPS gem. It's trading safety for DPS. It works in some situations, for example in this league you may want more clear speed to blow through easy maps for that insanely boring 10000 tier grind. Just don't forget about that trade if you do it. If you find yourself dying at high levels and getting frustrated about losing hours of xp - it's not the build that's unsafe and it's not you that lack skill, it's just the choice you've made that's generally not worth it if you don't want to die. And you can always revert that change and go with more safety and less frustration. Saving 1 minute per map and then losing several hours to a death that would not be even possible with the main version of the build... In my experience, as long as leveling it still one of your goals, you don't want to trade any safety for DPS. Последняя редакция: Kelvynn#6607. Время: 16 янв. 2017 г., 14:17:15

" as someone who went with the boot enchant route instead of going US and who just dinged lvl 97 this weekend, I never felt like getting stunned was the reason for my deaths or rippy situations that I just barely survived. my rips were mostly to volatile from dangerous mobs in maps with insane rolls. (e.g. a -max double extra damage vulnerablilty volcano map where a volatile devourer spawned next to me, underneath precast icestorms... nothing I could have done there. and I had over 10k ES...) but other than that, I agree: it's trading a marginal amount of safety for a marginal amount of dps/clearspeed.
