[2.6] The Curse Whisperer - Tri-Curse CI Whispering Ice Elementalist - Viable for Everything

Gotta say thanks for a very great guide and that you keep replying to questions.

Here's a question for everyone: I've been trying to go through several pages of this thread to find out the reasoning for not using avatar of fire + a Cold to Fire-gem instead of pyre. I'm level 90 at this point, and a setup of AoF+CtF (along with a Perandus ring instead of Pyre) gives me a tooltip damage boost, with the only apparent drawback to me is to use up 2 skill points.

I'm sure you guys have tested this thoroughly, so would love to hear the reasoning behind the build's choice!

If I'm not wrong it is only a choice of gear. You would need to get 65% resistances anywhere else, which might cost you a little bit. With very good gear the optimal setup would be Astramentis +1 curse and either pyre + 3% perandus or AoF+CtF and 2 3% perandus rings. I think, dont take my word on it.

I have done an experiment a while ago, i recall the DPS between CtF + AoF + 2% Perendus Signet vs Pyre is minimal (within 1% of each other).

But Pyre gives you 2 extra skill points because you don't have to take AoF. Also Pyre gives you resists.

If you have a legacy 3% int Perendus signet, then this becomes another question.

hey i have a question plz why are u using fertile mind cobalt jewel in witch area wich only converts 1 dex node to int (as the other1 is alrdy converted from other jewel)

but yet in shadow area ur using izaros jewel even tho theres 2 dex nodes in range is there a reason to that? like ur pretty much losing out on 10int if u just swap them with places

also wouldnt using fertile mind cobalt in shadow area be beter than izaros? as ur getting essentially 44 int (2 dex nodes changed)

What price ranges should be considered for "average" quality end game gear?

This is my first time in end game, and not really sure what prices I should be looking at.

Thanks!

I am playing with AoF + CtF + Perandus signet and prefer this setup over pyre, for several reasons. the damage difference is rather minimal with my setup. the main reason why kelvynn's guide recommends pyre is that its a cheaper setup in its own right and that the res on pyre help make the rest of the gear a bit cheaper as well.

aof + ctf + perandus provides more mana regen (only relevant if you play selfcast without blasphemy - warlords mark), it buffs the ES, it enhances the value of all int you get on gear and in the tree. and if one doesnt want to use conc effect for conventional mapping, there is not really a good other damage gem to use. I personally am not a fan of using item rarity... so cold to fire would be the next best damage multiplier anyway. and in this specific case, going with aof + perandus is obviously better.

so that setup has its advantages over pyre, but only for players with quite specific preferences.

I don't know that prices are really the way to look at it. For what I would consider "average" end game gear, you should look for 700ish (750+ even) ES chest (which you can get super cheap, like 5c unlinked on BSC at least), 150 ES gloves and boots, a crystal belt (which you can craft yourself) with Int and a flat ES roll. This should get you enough ES to handle pretty much anything. For reference, I have just over 10K ES with an 886 ES chest, 177 ES gloves, 153 ES boots, a 23 ES roll on my belt (with 79 ES implicit), and right around 1500 Int total. Assuming we aren't talking about 2 damage mods/crit/turbo on maps, I can pretty much face tank guardians with very little concern.

If only the gear was that cheap. I sold my 6S 5L 693 ES chest for 75 chaos (int, about 30% resists.)

I crafted my chest and belt using spite essences. Got lucky with my chest.

What. What league was that? Talking about Breach SC, where 700+ Es chests, unlinked (and you only need a 5L for this build) start at 8c atm:

Poe.trade search results for 700+ ES chests on BSC

Poe.trade results of 700+ ES chests on BSC with intelligence, which is a must for this build. +anywhere up to 1ex to make it 5l. And you still need 6s...
