Abaxoth, The End of All That Is - Why is this in game?

On the subject of loot drop...

The only place I have real issue is Piety the Abomination. She should drop something. Anything. Anything at all. For a long time I found her to be the hardest fight in the story line; harder than Malachai. All you get for killing her is a long walk to the next waypoint. I like basically everything about POE but that fight is soooo anticlimactic. It really kills the pacing of act 4.

I'll agree that loot drops from bosses usually suck. They get better if you stack MF. I know I don't like doing that, so I put up with crap loot drops. Personally I enjoy the fight against Abaxoth, voidspawn or not. He's just a good diversion from your typical grind. Granted, he has never actually killed me. Not once. Maybe it was just the maps he dropped in though. The most dangerous beyond mob to me, that has killed me, is probably Haast. He usually doesn't kill me either.

Bamath with the chaos damage always hurts me the most.

This guy is rare as shit and he's tough. You also need items/currency (map with Beyond or the Zana mod) to have a chance of encountering him.

It's not like if he was easily farmable so I don't see why he shouldn't be dropping a shitload of loot.

First of all, crap drop? Really? Give me one example of mob that drops good.
Technically he has very high inc rarity (my assumtion), he does grop a lot of items, of which there are mostly rares (no one likes rares?). And if I remeber correctly some ggg developer said that he would be suprised if we thought them (beyond bosses) unrewarding.

Second, Abaxoth has a very important feature to it, namely FUN. Fighting him is very challenging, and usually, not just gear check like other bosses can. I really enjoy fighting him just for fighting sake, sure i dont play hardcore, but as I understand how hardcore works, it should be immense adrenaline rush to most of you lot. And like it was probably said, hes very rare, you pretty much need to go your way to find him, thus making him perfect self-imposed challange.

In every action ARPG is loot very important part of the game (if not the most important).
Ever played D2 and seen drops there? Why was mephisto, baal, nihlathak and other uniq bosses so popular to hunt? Because of fun fight? Mostly bcos of nice drops u got there.

I have to say I am one of those sickos who goes out of my way to find him and execute him. Some of the most fun I have had in this game has been doing beyond maps and trying like hell to pull them all into a clump to spawn the higher tier ones. I actually get frustrated because I CAN'T spawn him enough hehe. The only time I thought that the beyond bosses were over the top was during the flashback events that had hasst spawning every single map at least once normally 2-3x per run trying to level. But it was hella fun just not super productive from an xp stand point but that was fine, as it just meant take a break from leveling and do some farming.

Maybe bcs PoE for trading and only trading? Not about loot or fun or balance at all.
