Hillary Clinton
@RayCheetah: She is neither "pushing" for it, nor is she "hot" for it (whatever that means), nor is it "millions" (not even close), nor are they "refugees" (they are refugees).

"Trump said Clinton "plans to massively increase admissions (of Middle East refugees) … including a 500 percent increase in Syrian refugees coming into our country." Clinton has, in fact, said that in response to the refugee crisis she would raise Obama's limit of 10,000 to 65,000. That's 550 percent more, a bit higher than what Trump said." "Because the statement is mostly accurate but needs clarification or additional information, we rate it Mostly True."/i] As Hillary wanted to expand the number that Obama wanted to admit, I would say she is "pushing" it. The political reason at the time was clear - she wanted to create the opposite impression that Trump did. Where Trump's halting Islamic immigration painted him as a racist to most people, Hillary hoped her welcoming stance would make her look more magnanimous. As for "hot" for it - that would mean she both wants it and is eager for it. Being "Hot" for something is/was slang for sexual desire
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M4_Ommfvv0
, but through overusage became a more generalized term. from: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/hillary-clinton-u-s-should-take-65000-syrian-refugees/ "Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Sunday that the United States should accept 65,000 refugees from Syria to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis created by the war there. "We're facing the worst refugee crisis since the end of World War II and I think the United States has to do more," the former secretary of state said Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation." "I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in." She said there should be a focus on admitting the most vulnerable, like persecuted religious minorities, or those who had been brutalized, like the Yazidi women. Clinton also said, "I want the United States to lead the world," and said the United Nations Secretary General should call for a meeting at the upcoming U.N. General Assembly meeting in which countries make specific commitments about to provide money and aid." "White House Press Secretary Joshua Earnest said earlier this month that President Obama had directed his administration to begin preparing to admit at least 10,000 refugees. That would be a significant increase from the 1,500 it is on track to accept by the end of September, but still far less than the target number Clinton has proposed."
@RayCheetah: She is neither "pushing" for it, nor is she "hot" for it (whatever that means), nor is it "millions" (not even close), nor are they "refugees" (they are refugees). You really are one special wingnut propagandist, aren't you? Not only copypasting the lies of Breitbart et al. but busily making up new ones yourself.
The "million" in the Breitbart article is an exaggeration of the ~600,000 number extrapolated by US Senator Jeff Sessions: "Assuming her goal is to admit 155,000 refugees each year during a hypothetical first term in office, a Clinton Administration would admit at least 620,000 refugees in just four years – a population roughly the size of Baltimore." http://www.sessions.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=news-releases&id=10240D21-0638-450C-8969-75119DAF6515 He also goes on to list an estimated cost of this number of refugees at ~$400 Billion.
Hopefully, the Huffington Post isn't too right wing for your tastes: From: Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/refugee-crisis-facts-un-michael-moller_uk_5734277ee4b01359f6866db0 The definition of a 'refugee' is very simple "The determination of who is a refugee is a very clear determination under international law," says Møller, who can't understand why the media uses the two interchangeably. "[A refugee is] somebody who asked for asylum because he or she flees persecution, war, and other horrible things, and falls under the 1951 convention. Refugees are a particular group of people that in law have the right to protection of a certain kind." There should be no misunderstanding between refugees and economic migrants, he says, but yet “the terms refugee and migrant have been put into the same salad. To put it very bluntly, every refugee is a migrant. Not every migrant is a refugee. It’s quite clear actually." "Having said that, of course all migrants have the right to have their human rights protected," he adds. "They have the right to seek a better life than the one they have. But they just have to be dealt with in a different way." The number one reason people leave Syria "Møller says feedback from people working in refugee camps suggests the main reason people are leaving Syria isn't the crippling violence in the country. "The number one reason why people leave Syria is not the bombs or the food or the cold, it’s because they want to find educational opportunities for their children," he explains. " If you read the whole article, you will see that Møller is not anti-migration at all, he just thinks the process is being handled incorrectly. It is worth reading. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/refugee-crisis-facts-un-michael-moller_uk_5734277ee4b01359f6866db0 The Syrian "refugee" question is not one of racism, but one of honesty and security. There's also the question of who is actually from Syria: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/migrants-are-disguising-themselves-as-syrians-to-gain-entry-to-europe/2015/09/22/827c6026-5bd8-11e5-8475-781cc9851652_story.html http://abcnews.go.com/International/isis-fake-passport-industry-official/story?id=36505984 ![]() TL/DR: Ray's information proves to be more valid than the ad hominem attack against him. @DalaiLama: I really don't want to waste any more time on Raycheeta's propagandist shitposting but what can you do. This is my last post regarding this. I can't convince you anyway, and Raycheetah will just continue his shitposting, totally unfazed. That's how he rolls.
1. "Pushing": Hillary said: "I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in.", and that's it. She doesn't campaign for it, or with it. She is not known to get active in any way regarding that. Furthermore, her use of the words "I would like to see ..." is anything but "pushing". "Pushing" would have been something along the lines of "We must immediately ...". And, yeah, she would put into place further vetting mechanisms, once in office. How horrible. The pressure on officials must be unbearable already. 2. "Hot": See point 1. 3. "Millions": Not "one million", and the figure of 600.000 is not only based on assumptions, it conflates regular immigrants with refugees. 4. "Refugees": In the Syrian war to this date about 400.000 people have been killed, maybe more, and millions have been displaced. Syrians have the choice between two brutally oppressive regimes - Assad and ISIS - all the while bombs from one foreign nation or another can and do drop on their heads. People fleeing the country are refugees, no doubt about that. There can be lots of reasons why Michael Moller heard what he heard. He might even be bending the truth, since he continues: "So you need to make sure that in Lebanon and Jordan and other countries that are suffering incredibly under the weight of millions of refugees, you help them set up structures that will provide food, shelter and education." " No, it doesn't "prove" to be more valid. It proves to be wingnut propaganda. Последняя редакция: Jojas#5551. Время: 18 сент. 2016 г., 09:58:43

Meanwhile, Hillary called out Trump (again) for doing something of which she, herself, was guilty. "Did you even listen to the entire video? The thing which pissed me off wasn't Clinton laughing about how she doesn't believe in polygraph tests - which the suspect passed - but that she convinced her client to plea bargain when she knew the state had no evidence. What a shitty defense lawyer! When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero.
