You know you're done playing PoE when...

1. Announcements of new skills cease to invoke thoughts on a new build.
2. The rush to mapping is a MEH feeling (more drudge work than anything else).
3. You'd rather watch tv instead of playing PoE.
4. The Lab is no longer on your shit list of zones.
5. Sitting in Trade Chat is more fun than playing.
6. Challenge leagues are interesting for only a couple of weeks.
7. When another lag death doesn't upset you.
8. When another one-shot death occurs after cruising through maps for an hour and
    you've ceased getting upset about many hours of xp lost again.
9. When reading of another skill/gear nerf is just another MEH moment.
10. When GGG proclaims the atlas is the greatest feature since sliced bread and you're
     stuck trying to advance a build because the needed maps won't drop and Zana doesn't
     have them for sale.
11. When GGG is oblivious to any posts in their own forums (how long ago was that?).
12. When posting in the forums is boring as fuck (that may have been true since day 1).
13. When PoE and "fun to play" can't be used in the same sentence.

Poe is still fun to play ;-)

Come on dude, do it already! We've been waiting for years for you to end the agony that is playing PoE and writing on the forums, and yet you're still here?

LOl yeah , take a look at Grim Dawn forums for example .

The devs always post there and players sit in the forums instead of reddit .

Thing is GD devs DO play their game and know what players are talking about. It eases the interaction.

Well ooe went from 8 to around 80 employees so 99% have no clue what the forums posts are about. Sad but true :-/

Ok, but I'm not through the 5 stages of grief since the November 8th presidential election. That alone is probably a 4 year long time frame. Since I'm coming up on my own 4 year anniversary of playing PoE (started December 2012) that may be a significant milestone.

That fact that I complain a lot but am a PoE loyalist and still hold out hope that GGG will do the right thing with the re-balance for act 5 means I'm either a secret masochist or am too stupid to know when to throw in the towel and perma-quit. I do know that I'm very weird in my thoughts on PoE in that I get some sort of pleasure out of bashing this game in the forums and then go back to playing and swearing at every lag death. For example, I was finally thinking I'd get my first level 90 build and was up to 67% in level 89 a couple weeks ago then as I played Zana dailies I died many times and now am back down to single digit %. I never figure out how to get enough life on any build so I'm mostly playing glass cannon exiles that can be one or two-shot by the bosses. I don't ever want to follow other build guides but maybe after 4 years it's time I did or just get out.

point 5 says u prefer trading over playing. point 10 claims u cant find maps to upgrade your atlas. so why not just trade to get them ? its more fun than playing anyway.

I always thought Chris was weird (and wrong) for just reading and posting in Reddit PoE almost exclusively and eschewing their own forums. Then I realized Chris is viewing PoE in the same way as the leader of Hy Brasil in Erik The Viking and choosing to pretend that all is happy and rosy by only reading Reddit PoE posts and that Wraeclast/PoE is not sinking (evidence is there if you read between the lines with Garena pulling out of PoE {realm closures} and now GGG looking to license PoE to Tencent {who will add P2W items}).
