GGG, Rework character resistances
You've got rid of old difficulty system, get rid of its legacy - tiered resistance penalties and rework (reduce) resistances across the board. They are confusing and doesn't make much sense now. Maybe even get rid of 75% cap and make it work as exponential decay e^(-x), the more resistances you pick the less effective its sources are.

I think I'd prefer to see something like -1% penalty every level up. You'd really get an heightened sense of danger as you explore and progress throughout wraeclast and oriath.

That doesn't really change much for how much work they have to do across the board to the passive skill tree, jewels, alira, items, max resists, all to fit this new resist theme. In the end, your goal is still to cap out on resists.
And idk about you but it would be much easier to calculate my resists by just adding them up to see if I get to the cap/higher for ele weakness maps. Then to have this decaying value of resists.. imagine buying some piece of gear with like 20ish resist on it (assuming resists got nerfed across the board) only to find it gives you 6 actual resist because you had a high value already. That would feel pretty bad. |

The whole system is archaic and binary, you either cap them or you get blown the fuck up. It's not a choice. A somewhat linear scaling and toning down of base damage would make way more sense.

I've always liked the idea of an exponential decay system, but I think we will never see it. Specifically not in PoE, specifically not with unique items that increase max resists. But I think it would be much more "natural" and non-binary. At the same time, it would be much harder to understand, though, specifically for non-'mathy' people.
The system I would like to see is the one where 2*50% resist reduce the damage taken first by 50% and then by 50% of the remaining 50% (for a total of 75% reduction). 4*25% would result in a 68% reduction. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

Maybe instead of Kitava's Curse all monsters could naturally pierce 1% of player resistances per monster level.
This could either cap at monster level 60 (60% resistance penetration, basically the same as the -60% resistances we have now) or more options for increasing player resistances past level 60 could be granted. This would introduce a smooth progression without making players feel so nerfed after Kitava. |

More important that resistances is not something that you can max up to prevent be oneshoted, capped resistances is must have to all characters and with capped resistances you still can be oneshoted by enemies. You have no choice rise up you resistances or not. Without capped resistances you simply can't play past lvl 70. You must get gear with 1-3 locked stats (resistances), what artificaly rise gear cost, because, for example, 120%+ sum res and 80+ hp is not a common item. Etc.

Rework resistances, get rid of that mandatory maxed resistances bullcrap, tweak and balance the game accordingly. its a bit ridiculous that you must have maxed resistances or your build isn't viable otherwise.
