Endgame build diversity has never felt so shit.
Wild strike actually feels really good, idk if you have actually played and actual build with it but i can confirm you that is a great skill, it just has the namelock problem. Massive boss hp boost made certain builds garbage when it comes to sustained fights. Map mods don't help with this either, ie, reduced recovery rate of life/ES/mana -max resist, hexproof and curse resistance, etc, etc. Not to say stuff like porcupines will murder your character unless you have some sort of cold damage or way to destroy corpses. Totems for example are obsolete, hierophant needs insane buff after MoM nerf and reflect rework. ES is obsolete since values are not high enough and you don't have much slots to work with due to: discipline reserving 35% of your mana, eye/pressence of chayula in your neck slot means you cannot wear bisco's, impressence and other cool stuff. Not wearing a shield means you will loose 800 ES, and you are pretty much forced into playing occultist if you want consistent ES recharge because leech sucks and you don't have potions to use. Not including dat ES doesn't bring any phys mitigation so you will most likely get one shotted if you get crit by minotaur. Ascendancies are not balanced either, elementalist is hot garbage as a spell caster and as attack class, deadeye doesn't have any defenses and not enough damage, it lacks movementspeed as well. Jugg may seem tanky but it's not, no dodge/block and low elemental mitigation means 1 shot vs high elemental damage, not to say this class has low damage compared to everything else.
And i could still go on but the main point here is that: Players choose the most brainless solution and that needs less investment, all the nerfs to stuff that everyone uses doesn't help either. They should start buffing obsolete skills/builds/keystones/classes/tree nodes/mechanics instead of nerfing. all buff no nerf strategy is the worst possible one in a game that combines both linear and exponential scaling. you CANNOT f.. around with this type of scaling without side effects
GGG tried to pretend math does not exist and id didnt end up well and do not worry - GGG wont have the courage to nerf stuff. they know the game and their customers - power has to come easily and in big chunks and the power will flow. people are able to kill Hydra with auto-attack. this is how you make your own game 'redonqulololous' - by insane power creep and solving all gamedesign issues with 'more power' D3's 'we have doubled it' turns out to be just mild adjustment |

" What's wrong with it and what your "feels bad" mean? It's very strong skill for endgame (208% base damage lul). Cleared guardians in Legacy with it (Terminus Est crit Slayer). Was very enjoyable. " cleave is hot garbage because it cannot use Fake DW with insanely broken Shaper/Elder offhands. reave beats it in 10/10 scenarios thank to that. Cleave is a true-DW skill only and there is NO POINT in playing this outdated concept. GGG removed any and all incentive to play true-DW introducing items that give you ~100% more damage as elemental (you can craft 2 mods yourself with alts and regal to luck on the third - it is NOT expensive at all!) ice crash.. sure, it works, i even made a (fake-DW ofc) ice crasher with Frostbreath. very cool build. but the clear speed is barely acceptable due to how the skill works and how slow it is. why play something with AOE of '4' when there are similar skills with AOE of '20'? or why melee at all when you can pick a wand and crit 2 screens with one click (this is NOT an exaggeration) |

" Because you like to "HULK SMASH" things. It's really the only incentive. Knowing GGG they will add a threshold jewel for Ice Crash to make all the AoE damage overlap, and that would be "cool". IF fake dual wielding would be addressed, and IF single target namelocking melee skills would get the HIGHEST DAMAGE output in PoE'e end game (or at least "moar" defence), you could talk about "melee" having an incentive. Until then, you're better off going "pew pew" as you said already... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...
