I missed the first (six?) episodes of the Expanse, so I will just get it when it comes out on disc. Haven't seen Altered Carbon; my tolerance for subscription based services is very low, so no Netflix. Although, they are starting to put out enough good stuff I may have to revisit that philosophy on a month by month basis.

Then I got sucked into another author's catalogue and got sidetracked for 25 years (my how time flies). Some of us still watch (or at least have a) TV. Good luck finding a dead channel though. Neuromancer's opening line about the sky being the colour of a dead channel is definitely a great one, but the weird thing is it's meaning to audiences has changed over time - old fogeys like myself picture grey static:

 but I remember reading an interview with Gibson where he pointed out there are adult people today who grew up knowing a dead channel as a flat, unnaturally vivid blue:

 Bringing this post back around more in the direction of the topic of the thread, the reason that Android:Netrunner is ending is that the mechanics and name were licensed by Wizards of the Coast, who produced the original Netrunner CCG in the 90s, and that license has not been renewed. Fantasy Flight own the Android setting used in the newer implementation, and will continue to use it in future games, but they can't make Netrunner anymore. The original Netrunner itself was made by WoTC, but they licensed the setting they used for it - the Cyberpunk 2020 setting from the tabletop roleplaying game - which even included alternate rules for playing Netrunner games in place of the RPGs hacking rules. This is the same setting which is the basis of the Cyberpunk 2077 game. | |

Looking at the economy and market i think we are progressing into corpocracy. Also many "countries" switeched into corpo model liek Australia or Germany (there are corpos under that name registered and working as corpos not countries). So i guess we will at least for a time live in corpocracy. Also USA is not democtacy its Oligarchy and from there corpo is just a small step.
So i get why all those visionaries went into this path because... well this is the clue about sf - what is possible and what is probable. And thing that gets old faster than anything is future (or visions of it). |

Meanwhile waiting for this cyberpunk game, you can short your waiting by watching movie "Upgrade". Its great cyberpunk B type film :) - 10/10.

Not bad. The dialogue was a bit 2edgy4me but I guess cyberpunk is like that.

This gameplay shows some neat thingys in game. I must say it is one of few games i will wait on.

I think Sargon and Mekotur are wrong about recent Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter controversy, because cyberpunk is for the transgender community. Even our wildest characterizations of non-binary gender ideology — and even caricatures, e.g. the sexual attack helicopter — could successfully transition in the Ghost-in-the-Shell-style sci-fi fantasyland of the genre. The appeal of that world to trans folk is understandably enormous.
Sargon even made a video complaining about how 6 of the first 7 questions in the Eurogamer interview with the devs were about gender ideology. That's not what Cyberpunk fans want to know about, says Sargon. Wrong, Bigot of Akkad — that's what YOU don't care to know about. Cis folk should cease and desist their attempts at cultural appropriation of this eagerly anticipated title. GOAT indeed, Deleted.  When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero.
