Mistress + Bone Offering will give you an extra 17% block to attacks and spells. I really like the staff build, but I'm not sure what the availability will be in 3.8 league, so I want to keep wand + shield as the default build (cheap and easy to gear). You can only really use lightning based spectres if you don't want to change much. If you can get at least 1 white socket (2 preferably) in your 6L, you can use Lightning Risen Vaal Advocates. They shoot lightning balls, so with GMP are very good at map clearing. Personally, I use it in Sand Stance to be sure to blind nearest threats. So, the Blind from Flesh and Stone is to help you stay alive from being hit from anything close to you, ie. Legion monsters. The Blind on the 4-link set up is for boss killing.
