If the first wand gives you a 5th spectre, it is better. 4 -> 5 spectres is 25% more damage.

If you don't need +1 wand to get 5 spectres, then the second wand is better.

This looks very interesting... I've had 3 AG deaths this league from metamorph, acid caverns boss, courthouse boss. I will give this a try if it gets another RIP... but hopefully not!

I changed my tree/equip using things from last few pages, overall i feel way more tanky now, guess i'll try to get to 100 after all... :-) 8100/2100 hp/es (7800 with HH), 60% chaos resist. Still need to craft better wand and boots.

Hi, this is my first time playing POE, and i have been following ur guide (wand+shield)

I have realised that it is pretty difficult for me to kill certain bosses like phoenix due to them kill my spectres. And when my spectres gets killed i practically have no major source of damage.

I'm not sure if i'm up to date with the passive skill tree that you have uploaded cause there's too many to look at.

Any other ways i can improve?

Phoenix is one of the more annoying bosses with spectres as well as Atziri. I think if you added a minion leech jewel that would help. For Phoenix I usually stick on top of him till he does the blast and try and focus him down fast. If my spectres start dying I logout and resummon.

I have been tinkering with the original w&s and thrown SRS into a 5 link on my chest with aggressive zombies. Im using cold snap for EE being careful with my flame dash so the srs still do good damage. SRS just really single target with no melee splash but they are very good with cheesing metamorphs. Just find cover and spam them. Spectres are on a 4 link helm with conc effect and a few awakened gems but im looking to get a better helm with minion damage too instead of maybe minion life.

Running a basic AG with the cheap gear but he is yet to die to any content.

No +1 wand but its got tons of dmg, life and resists. The helm setup gets my spectres to L26.

Thrown a medium thread of hope into the mix and the aul-haste-watchers eye-phasing for extra D. sitting at 7.5k life and 500 es aprox.

Im interested in the new w&s build but its some effort to move things around and i will lose my srs - not sure here. Able to run everything so far bar uber elder/atziri which i am yet to try. Sirus a8 down with a few deaths.

Anyway wanted to share what i was doing and thank you for an amazing couple of builds (and thanks to all the players who contribute too).

I was just thinking about this tweak for more survivability in boss fights...

All my builds have Generosity linked to Wrath to increase Wrath's bonus:


In the new W&S build, Vic's Charity is used for frenzy charges:


But Arma Brand does not hit fast enough to generate charges because it only hits every 0.7s and there is only a 5% chance. So we use HFT because it hits quickly enough to get full charges.


So, I think it's possible to improve survivability by using Zealotry without Generosity because it has a 10% chance to create consecrated ground on hit.


That will spread out the 6% healing area, and if you had some extra money, you could throw in

You might also want to do Phoenix the old way, back DPS was much lower.

1. Cast Arma Brand near Phoenix - spectres will attack.
2. Keep your distance but keep Phoenix in view.
3. When you see the orange circles over you and your spectres, move to a corner and cast convocation.
4. Listen for the explosion. When it's done, move back to Phoenix.


Don't use Deathmark. It keeps spectres near the boss, so they will get the fire debuff and die.

If at any time you are attacked by phoenixes, cast convocation to bring spectres to you to kill them.

Try to stay mobile and move around the corners.
