[3.5] CheeQu's CoC Ice Nova Assassin - Up to 7m Shaper DPS + Amazing Clearspeed [In-Depth Guide]

For leveling I suggest trying Winter Orb CwC Ice Spear. 4 link took me all the way to maps and until I had enough to switch to CoC. Leveling with it was a breeze. Any 1h with high spell dmg and spell dmg shield is really all you need.

Ive been playing this build and it seems really good so far, I have made some modifications based on other builds and because I want to run mf while I farm for the better items. I have cleared up to tier 11 no problems so far.



I plan to buy more mf and then eventually buy all the dps gear.

Here is a level 90 setup I made for 3.6 in PoB

It uses Hatred and Discipline as auras, Mark of The Shaper, Elder ring w. Warlords Mark on hit, Watchers Eye with Hatred crit chance.
Rest of the gear is pretty generic, but all in all it's
7K ehp total. Should be able to do Uber Elder without much problems.
The 0,3% es leech node Soul Thief should be enough to leech es fast.
Take note that with this setup you must adjust the attack speed to not go over the 3,75 Cyclone attack rate threshold.

Most expensive items costs at the time of this post about 12ex.
I would loosely estimate it costs about 16-18 ex for all the items and a 6link Loreweave at this moment.

Regretted into this from trickster in the new league. I've been having good luck with it, and am clearing maps very effectively. I am still wearing a few pieces of garbage gear, mostly because I haven't had a need to improve it.

One thing I decided to move in on was zealotry. 15% more spell damage is always good, and the changes to consecrated ground are pretty effective, considering we are always right on top of the enemies. I dropped the blasphemy aura for it.

Really, I feel like I would rather get the curse from a ring or glove corruption.

Zealotry watcher's eyes aren't that expensive either, probably because there aren't a lot of build guides out there which actually call for them. I got this for a very modest price, and I think that it complements the build well.


I know the survivability isn't going to be as high as a ESoH watchers eye, but it is WAAAY cheaper. The extra penetration is nothing to sneeze at. I feel like with a watcher's eye like this, zealotry becomes extremely attractive.

Can you try and take the Soul Thief node and run Discipline instead of Herald of Ice? How is the leech working from only that node with your damage? I just tested it on my character and the ES went back up to full in a split second, felt better than the ESoH mod.

I'll give it a shot in a couple of levels.

Bought a CDR belt yesterday. It even has room for another craft of my choice. Prefix or suffix. I divined it until I hit 14%+ CDR.


Now I am considering how to properly up my APS. Apparently with the 14% the APS cap is 7.57. Divided by two for cyclone and it is 3.785.

I already have a 14% cospri's. Considering options

starkonja's + coordination = 3.48 aps. 22%. A little low.
starkonja's + onslaught = 3.69 aps. 30%. Viable.
devoto's + onslaught = 3.84 aps. 36%. Too high.
devoto's + coordination node = 3.64 aps. 28% Viable.
0% attack speed helmet + onslaught + coordination = 3.75 aps. 32%. Pretty much right on the money.

It seems like you ideally want around 32% extra attack speed from some combination of bonuses, as is evidenced by the last case.

I feel like if I would be using devoto's, doing it without an onslaught flask would be kind of defeat the purpose.

Probably just do starkonja's with a silver flask, as is recommended in the guide.

Love the build and want to give it a try. Just curious on people's thoughts between this version and the occultist ES/CI version. Occultist seems to do slightly more damage, have more ehp, and doesnt need pandemonius ($$). But ES gear aint the cheapest either.

Obviously people are in this thread for the assassin, but what do you guys think between the two?

is it at all possible to run this build in 3.6 as pure ES and use the new ES leech gem?

Just a little update on the build.

running this as mostly life is the best option. The ES leech is not worth going for. Pretty sure someone mentioned this in ab earlier post. The ES leech would probably be good if you went ghost reaver and made ES your main pool of life. We aren't because it requires significant investment and becomes a bit more expensive especially in this league. Hwoever, you can probably use the life/hybrid version to accumulate a decent wealth and then decide to reroll into an occultist or something to accomodate ES better.

I've literally ran this build up to t15's so far and steam rolled the bosses and monsters with corrupt 8 mod maps on a tabula. You don't need a loreweave at all, but i would suspect that it would give a bit of a boost in defense anyway. But because of this, I think that the chest spot is VERY flexible. I even did a t15 red elder and rolled right through it no deaths. This build is still very viable. I dont have a shapers mark nor do I have a pandemonius and can easily see myself doing shaper once I decide I want to. Uber elder will probably require better gear but i'll deal with that bridge later lol
