[3.13] HC/SC/SSF All Content Miner - Any Mine Skill - LL/CI - 12k ES w/ Videos!

hey got a little calculation question : in this case

Frost Bolt: 1,491 average damage hit at level 22 with a 220% damage effectiveness giving us a 1,593 average hit.

by wich way do you obtain 1,593 ? What the calculation to get that ? trying to learn how to work damage ^^
Not really sure if GC is intended to be played at all with mines. Only 4 bursts and lowered damage means you'll need to take advantage of conversions / extra damage to get decent DPS. My biggest concern is that bosses can get knocked back only once every second and that the biggest chunk of damage is on the last hit. I guess that if you want to take advantage of the last burst, you only have 2 bursts that will hit bosses like Sirus but the knockback can fuck up the positioning of other mines. Also if you grab too much AoE, the last burst could end offscreen and if you don't grab enough you won't have overlaps. Conc effect might fuck up the links.

It'll probably be better than BL in terms of clear but making the most out of it on bosses like UE / Sirus will be a huge trouble imo. Also getting a decent weap with double extra damage will cost a fortune without harvest.

Edit : minefield with alternate quality might end up better than swift assembly ? Having 4 more total mines means 16% more chance to deal double damage from high-impact mines and also help with invincibility phased bosses. Charged mines alt quality also seems interesting, easy power / frenzy charges generation even against solo bosses.

I dont think this would be the case, as they made this quote :"The skill benefits greatly from increased area of effect, allowing for more overlap between bursts". How i see it, and how they presented it, more AoE will make the skill overlap more, so it is up to us to test it and check how much aoe we need for all 4 bursts to overlap. Also i read somewhere that inc aoe with gc doesnt work like before. And about knockback, we will have to see how it performs on bossing. I think that overall GC will be stronger than BL.

Yeah but I have a feeling that the more AoE you have, the more distance there is between the center of each burst. I might be wrong though. Also in the video they use conc effect so it's kinda hard to see it properly.

On the paper, purely looking at the numbers, even if all bursts hit it'd do half the damage of last league BL. But on the other hand, it might have a better scaling with conversions.

From the looks of it it's between GC & BL.
Sorry I have a general question regarding playing a miner:

I have played a miner way back in the day and I didn't like the mechanics of having to manually detonate mines each time.

How is it now with skitterbot? Is there still a need to manually detonate the mines? I saw your gem links without the detonate mine gem so I am assuming, and hoping, that skitterbot does all the dirty work for us now.

Fingers-crossed because I really want to play a miner again.

First of all, each Skitterbot has a 3 second cooldown for detonating mines, so it's not reliable. I just hold down the detonate mine button when I quest/map, or you can look up the numlock trick.

Second, I've never had to actually link the detonate mine gem to any mines. You get the skill for free if you have other mine gems. I think the detonate mines gem is for things like CWDT or some other linkage.

As for GC/AOE, I think the placement of each GC's center is fixed, so if you increase the AOE they overlap more.

Now a question of my own. For mines with auras, do these auras only apply when the mine hasn't been detonated yet? For GC to take advantage of the double damage aura, if I just detonate as I throw them, the aura never builds up to 40 or 80%, correct?

I was just using the same flat damage calc for all skills.

Yeah im not sold on GC, but I want to test it out before I say its trash.

BL is still the clear winner.

Minefield is just awful w/ the hidden reduced throw speed modifier.
