I just hit this with sanctified+dense+frigid fossils. Not an expert in crafting so how I should proceed from here?

Considering putting this build together in Standard. How's it doing so far in the Metamorph endgame?

" With a higher budget it’s pretty stupid if you are talking about icicle. Tested it out with my standard gear from 3.8, and was doing 20m+ dps. 3 second shaper kill on phase 3 full life. That’s without any legacy gear, just decent stuff. Maybe 100ex in total gear or so, probably a lot cheaper in standard. You can check the character, it’s still up. On a lower budget, pyroclast is still great, but it doesn’t have the best clear in the world. |

Also, for folks that are struggling against metamorph bosses with icicle, try throwing in a frost bomb to your setup. It can help quite a bit.

I see quite a few people saying that they are feeling a lack of dps in 3.9 on bosses, here are a few tips:
1. Icicle does require a mid-high tier budget to really feel good against single target bosses with a lot of resists. Once you get to that budget it feels amazing, but without additional levels and penetration on gear it can feel a bit lack luster in high tier red maps. Until your gear gets up to par, I would recommend using a 6 link setup with Pyroclast OR using a weapon swap to go to a 5 link Pyroclast setup in a Tremor Rod - that will be more than enough to instantly delete most any boss. 2. With the changes to elemental resists this league, penetration should be your primary target when looking at upgrades. There are two big spots we can get this - weapon and boot enchant in lab. On the weapon, you either want a shaper base, or a redeemer base and you are looking to hit ele pen or cold pen to help with your dps. For the boot enchant, its fairly rare, but if you just keep running lab you will eventually hit the enchant on your boots and that can be a huge boost for our damage. In addition, it is certainly worth having Frost Bomb slotted this league for the additional boost against bosses and metamorphs. Depending on your gear, you may find that Cold Pen is a better 6th link than Inspiration as well. |
