" Ok I got it thanks ;) Sorry it is only my 2nd league, I am still not very good at it yet So I guess I will go for the Thread of hope version which will allow me to use lighning or cold damage inc top nodes. I will continue with Pyroclast a bit and switch to BL or GC. Pyroclast seems to have a bad clear speed. Maybe switch early for GC, any 6L recommendation while leveling? I will go with: GC > swift assembly > trap and mine dmg > High impact > Cold pene > (Conc effect / inc area of effect / inspi / hypothermia) depending on the clear speed result... | |
" I’d go for BL if I were you, GC isn’t the greatest early on with so-so gear. |

Hi so I starting this league with this build and it is going well so far.
I am going Pryoclast mine as I want a big bosser. A few questions are how do we start to go LL as my enenergt shield keeps getting melted as soon as I get hit and die pretty quickly. How do we manage to lay a lot of mines at once for binig explosions, do we need to hold down the detonate button while we are placing so it just constantly does 1 mine damage?? I am also trying to get currency for better gear but struggling alot. I am just hitting act 8 and monsters are getting really hard even with a 5 link. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! | |
" You die quickly because your build is terrible. If you want to league start with mines, you play a life based miner with phase acro. You won't accomplish anything by trying to play an ES based build with garbage equipment and no defensive mechanisms beyond blind from your ascendancy (which you do not have as yet). All your items are really bad at the moment. The wand, amulet and belt are usable, but you should try to start replacing your other equipment soon - good life (or ES if you want to stick with that) rolls are the priority. In addition, there is almost no reason to be using a mediocre shield like that. Either use a second wand with flat fire damage to spells / +1 fire spells, or find a shield with some %spell damage / fire damage / +1 fire damage to spells. Been wanting to try a BL miner for some time, but i only play HC, is it viable? how is the dmg? will i be able to do the new 10 boss rituals ? how is survability? Ty | |
" Once leveled its viable, and the damage is good. Getting to maps can be a problem if you are new to proxy casters as it does take some practice in HC. In HC I would suggest going a lot more defensive on the tree, and going with a max block variant. Last time I played in HC was with pre-change GC and icicle. Icicle made it to 98 and GC to 96 before ripping. |

" Generally most players new to mines have the most difficultly with acts 6-10 with this build and after that it’s a breeze. Your main issue early on with ES is getting a total that will allow you to regen from zealots oath. About 2k is fine for where you are at now. Most of your damage should come at range, so you can avoid most damage in the game. You won’t be able to face tank until some gear upgrades. Other than that just keep going, it will get better. For mines, it’s a stutter step playstyle. Check the vods. |

Hey beerleague,
Im thinking of transitioning one of my ssf standard chars to a miner following your guide. I have a 5L-shavs laying around as well as an eye of chayula, so no presence and no prism guardian.
