[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

I have min-maxed my version of the build a bit further. Anyone with some playing experience can chime in on how much of a manapool you need if you have slightly more regen than you consume per second?
I'm worried about Wave of Conviction just draining the tiny pool.

I think I managed to fit in all the auras (Determination, Discipline, AA, TS, HoA, Defiance Banner), but my pool is pretty small (135 at 9%) and of course this requires pretty expensive and specific gear...

If that's non-sense in practical play, just drop the ring and the amulet for something less specific and run either AA or HoA depending on your preference.

Anybody has an educated guess on the budget for the full build? :P

Looking at Clay's POB, a choice under block mastery (by Safeguard) is +20 life and mana when you block. Maybe that's enough to cover the mana completely XD

Edit: As for the cost, I made the following notes using 3.13 data, prices 1 week after 3.13 started:

DISCLAIMER: This is just some notes I made like a year ago, may or may not be applicable to this league.

Of course, rares with reduced curse effect and jewels are completely not predictable. With the rework in defense, maybe Aegis Aurora becomes super expensive, who knows. Pre-3.15, soul mantle 6L wasn't too bad, 1-3x. Last league, 10X+, sucked.

Also before 3.16, a corrupted skin of loyal that gives +2 skill gems was super expensive. In 3.16 skin of lord gives +2 by default, with a limited pool of good notables, so that can shoot through the roof (esp since SirGog did a video on it)

In past leagues, it would take any where between 50-70ex to "complete" the build.

But how much the items cost change league to league. The belt exploded in cost last league but hopefully it will return to normal.

Not needing Enlighten 4 and Blue Nightmare helps. A lot may come down to how expensive the now powerful again level 5 awakening gems are and how expensive the Skin of the Lords will be.

I have played this build for many leagues and have worried more about mana just today than at any other time. Even last league when mana was horrendous, I still plowed through.

Wave of conviction costs 29 mana. CWDT has a .25 second cool down. I don't have memories of it ever going crazy and triggering 4 times a second so I am hopeful it won't be an issue.

TS will proc every time we block and get a mana increase from hex touch but I have no idea how much it will cost.

In previous leagues 135 mana would have been enough but we will have to see how it plays out.

Wow, you are almost an aura bot lol :) Am I reading this correctly that with an EL 4 you fit in 6 auras?? That is really impressive! I was just happy to get 5 auras in :) I think realistically 5 is where I am going to end up.

that would be excellent when mapping but might be tricky against single target since we block so much less against a boss.

I think half the fun of 3.16 is going to be experimenting with things like this to see what feels good.

It would not shock me if we came back to in two months and we have made a lot of changes from our thoughts today during theory crafting.

I bet regret orbs are going to be in demand this league.

If I did my edits correctly in POB, we are going to be picking ~1m dps when the level 5 awaken gems come in.

95% of the damage increase comes from level 5 of Elemental Focus and level 5 of Controlled Destruction.

Very little DPS comes from the level 5 of Hextouch so I would leave that one for last when upgrading.

I missed this in the patch notes. I think this hurts our hopes of multiple auras. POB was not updated like I thought it was in this area. They only updated the mod itself but did not update the size of the cluster jewel.

The Aura Cluster Jewel type can now be found on Small Cluster Jewels, rather than Medium Cluster Jewels. This makes it more costly and less impactful to stack large numbers of Aura Cluster Jewels. The small Passives now grant 6% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency, instead of increased Aura Effect. This change does not affect existing Medium Cluster Jewels.

As such we would need two small cluster to do what we want, but we only have one open socket since we need the other for Natures Patience and it would cost too many points to path to another cluster opening on the tree for the second small cluster.

So I think we may need an enlighten (some level) to fit in TS now. If we can't fit in TS, we have to go back to the original idea of using Arcane Guarding for our Spell Block.

I will try it just using Uncompromising and see where I can get and give feedback later.

hmm, this was easier to solve than I first expected.

Here are the steps

1) Use 1 new small cluster with Uncompromising

2) Change the Mastery on Sovereignty to "15% Increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills"

Can some one please confirm I did not make any mistakes here in my POB and that the 5 auras are turned on? (note I am using HOA as a stand in for TS for now). I also just used half of a medium cluster jewel to simulate a small cluster since POB does not yet handle the aura notables in small clusters.

It looks like hextouch isn't actually linking to your herald of ash... you can simulate it using a herald of ice though and you end up with 3% mana at 48. Having an enlighten in your gloves can clear up mana issues since you have an open socket there though. There are a couple of other weird things about your skill tree: There's an int travel node at the top left which doesn't connect to anything, the elementary mastery you took (exposure you inflict applies at least -18% to the affected Resistance) doesn't do anything as well since Elementalist ascendancy adds -25% to exposures which makes it that your exposure is *always* over 18% (which you can replace with 40% increased Effect of Non-Damaging Ailments for a decent amount of damage), and if you can forego 10% Life Recovery Rate you can switch your life mastery to the 10% increased Life one which slightly edges out the +50 flat. Last thing I wanted to point out is that you can take a mana mastery by Mystic Bulwark for 10% reduced mana cost of skills, cutting incinerate mana cost by 2. I think that's it but if I missed something let me know, I'm pretty new to working with POB ;w;

* Added Enlighten level 3 which gives 128 mana. I can move to EL 4 if needed later

* I removed the int node that was wasted

* We discussed the exposure item earlier in the thread. There was some general confusion on how this worked and I never went back to adjust it. I made the change as you suggested.

* I added the mastery by Mystic Bulmark. That will help our mana sustain nicely!

* For now I am going to stay with the +50 to life as I want to protect against DOT as much as possible.

* I also edited one of the items of gear to remove a ton of cold res so that Fire is the highest res for The Wise Oak.

Do you have a way to generate endurance charges in that POB? They split the wheel that Swagger was on so it now only grants Frenzy Charges on block. There is a channeling cluster notable you can take which lets you also grab the last 50% stun avoidance you need to be immune.

There's a few mods I put in the config window to simulate Tempest Shield's spell block, the Safeguard wheel, Arcane Surge from Arcane Adept, Uncompromising and the base 6% mana reservation efficiency from the new small cluster nodes. There's no need for enlighten with this as well!
