Last Epoch is definitely better than POE now, and here's why.....

LE reminds me of the original dungeon siege for some reason. You cannot really compare POE to LE as LE needs to be flushed out mechanically, graphically and lore. It also needs a tonne more monsters, base gear and endgame.
Crafting in LE is what crafting should be in an ARPG. However it would be nice to buff it out somehow to make it more interesting as currently I find it rather basic. Sure having craft upto T5 stats is fine but even determinist crafting needs a randomness to it. Graphically POE and LE are similar although POE has better character and background animations (by miles). LE does not have better graphics. It uses what graphics it has pretty well though. This can improve with development we shall see. LE plays differently but as complexity goes in character development and skill trees I think both games have merits and downsides. POE has a massive skilltree which looks complicated but is in fact generic as hell. All setups look the same to me now in POE as cluster jewel, jewel slots and life/ES nodes make up the majority of the builds. Gear has become the same good uniques, same crafted boots, same crafted chest, same crafted.... 99.99999% of the gear in POE is either total trash or BIS by miles. LE has a system that makes all classes feel strong and different enough to be interesting. It is straight forward enough to understand what stats improve your current skill damage etc. However there isn't enough "game" to test the characters in a meaningful sense like in POE. There is always a means to go harder in POE to push your build further but that has come with age. I have never played POE multiplayer in the 4500 hours I have invested in it since 2014. Don't really see the point unless using the same aura stacking MF DPS builds every single league is somehow appealing? Not for me. I only got LE because Ultimatum sucks harder than tornado over a manhole. I would have given the money to GGG but I lost interest in Ultimatum REALLY fast. Last league was the best fun I had in POE this league the worst, maybe harvest as that was simply too much messing about. |

" I concur with everything said. LE also accomplishes something very unique, making almost all gear worth picking up - directly linked to the crafting system. N00BZLab on YouTube made some interesting videos on how to mod the game for those who want to experience the game from a different perspective. I've used his tips with great success in poe downtimes. |

" Not sure about torrent but current build of LE is mostly offline mode (no internet connection needed) except for login, ingame chat and ladders. All character data is on your local hard drive and can be easly edited as they are plain non-encrypted or compressed text files. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

Ive been playing Last Epoch instead of PoE since the end of Ritual league after reading the Ultimatum patch notes and finally coming to terms with the fact that PoE is and always will be balanced around 8 no-life streamers and I couldnt be happier.
Last Epoch is still in beta but its constantly updated and the game is actually fun, it doesnt punish you and grind you into the ground like the power point slide show, 1hko gank fest PoE has become. Its current endgame system (maps) are monoliths and if you play 6 hours or so a day sure they can get boring but the games still new and they are already dramatically overhauling the monolith system and adding to it. If your sick of the knock off Ritual 2.0 league and GGGs catering to their precious streamers buy Last Epoch, the ardent gladiator pack is plenty at like 30 bucks, you can always upgrade it down the road if you want more forum badge and cosmetic bling. |

LE crafting may be good, but it's gameplay still 10 times worse than PoE.

" i played Last Epoch 0.8x through. With all classes because i had nothing better to do.. Necro was strongest then Beastmaster. But Last Epoch will never compete with POE 1 or 2 The grafic engine of LE is horrible. The story is slow and boring. Last Epoch looks aged already... Last Epoch is at its current state, damn boring ... Next week you appear here and tell us the same about Wolcen right? |
