League started with this and I am lvl 75 now, must say pretty great build so far, got 2 call of brotherhood already but far from ready to go low life/ES yet, but mapping is a breeze.

So how do you apply curses without triggering herald of thunder "after killing" effect?

There are some differences, especially when it comes to items and gems between the forum version of the guide, and the PoB. I mostly looked at the pre-LL version. Which one should take priority?

" This isn't just you, I'm having the exact same issue and the only fix is toggling after I enter a map. I think using wave of conviction instead to apply the curses might be a better idea for now because I keep forgetting to toggle it. So its basically follow the league starter POB until you're fully ready to switch to LL (including shavs and COTB), then you follow the Endgame POB?
