Would a reworked Synthesis league mechanic interest any of you?

Only if they remove the whole crafting part and replace it with proper non-crafting rewards. Tired of craft leagues.
I like its place nowadays. Synthesis fuels a big part of itemization still, and it is still underused. We get a decent amount of synthesised items and fracturing is pretty good nowadays as well imho. + we have access to the maps and the loot flavor of the league(the random synthesis affixes)

I definitely want others layers of content on top of map and not tied to maps/mapping. But the synthesis scheme was imho too barebone. It was close beeing good, it was very ambitious but it is nowhere close to what I expect from a recurring game mechanic.

And the synthesised item creation was imho a livesearch simulator wich was inducing pricing ptsds.
Hell yes. It would've been an awesome alternative endgame if massaged properly. Very unfortunate that all the dev time was wasted trying to "own" Redditors by changing spawn mechanics rather than actually improving the mechanic itself.
its been a while but wasnt the league mechanic overly complicated? no i dont want that back unless they make it simpler.
If it's a good rework.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Synthesis was pretty, but unrewarding if you were as casual a player as I am. I ended up with a bunch of garbage rares and not much else. There're a LOT of lasting impressions from that league, and most are bad. ='[.]'=

I agree, it shouldn't come back in its most recent form.
The memory mapping was a very clever idea, with a lot of potential, and good building towards reward areas - even the conflict could be interesting, go for a remote high reward or take the nearer one? And it looked pretty.

However, the implementation was very disappointing. The way paths would disintegrate all at different rates f any bit was used in more than one route was incredibly annoying; the limited storage space for new pieces was painful, and not being able to rotate or salvage pieces was infuriating. Bits with 3 connections were all very well, but you'd be stuck when one expired until you got a replacement, and then the paths would change. And the new rewards vanishing or appearing in some really inconvenient place. And all this certainly wouldn't work in core game, if you only saw one memory piece every 8-10 maps it would never get finished.
And then there were the bugs, and the timer, and the failed interaction between impassable memory terrain and impassable blue encroaching which meant the only thing to do was run like crazy for each connect point - and especially playing solo, that was SO frustrating.

As for the "crafting"... maybe people playing 10 hours/day found a way to make it rewarding? I don't think I've ever found/made a synthesised piece better than "meh".
Not to mention anything that has to be mined from the game client and then run through spreadsheet macros is far too much like the boring bits of paid work for me to touch unpaid.

For me building path to specific rewards was fun, could be improved but rewards were good as long as you can reach them.
Finding specific affix on specific base 3 times for "crafting" usable items was impossible and other then that it was scourge type things like +5 dex.
