POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Same. Before I could maybe a get a few hours in if I was lucky. now I cant even load into the game. And if I somehow do make it in, I will crash as soon as I go back to town.

Same thing is happening to me with a 7800x3d and a 4090.

Ya my friend crashes 80% of the time transitioning. We are done with this game until it gets resolved. It is not worth trying to reload windows or try the 20 dif things on Reddit. It is their issue. I paid $69 so I hope in a couple months I get my money out of it. Not recommending to friends at this point.
Oh and by the way. The Souls games they are mimicking I never played cause I HATE games like that.

I downloaded the prebuilt 1.2.0 release, and Windows Defender reported that it contained Wacatac trojan. Uninstalled.

This isn't just a POE2 issue. It is also happening in POE1. The exact same pc freeze, during the same actions, loading maps or the game.

I get no crashes or crazy cpu utilization during load screens in any other games. Just POE1 and POE2. This is 100% a problem on GGGs end.

Most likely has something to do with the shaders because all the crash reports people are actually able to get, show shader as the error.

Try to play POE1, you will absolutely encounter the same issue. 100%

I have the same problem.the game is unplayablefor me

Grinding Gear Games... well named. I can hear my machine grinding it's gears when I start the game. Or that may be my teeth grinding in frustration.

I have managed a total of 5 hours of play; this is in between periods where I start the game and it crashes on the GGG animation, I start the game and can hear the login screen sound/music but cannot see anything, I start the game and just maybe manage to log in before it crashes, I start the game, log in, select a character and it crashes. And so on, ad infinitum.

Posting this on page 205 of the thread hints that maybe its not just me.

There's early access, and then there's an actually playable game. PoE2 seems to only fall into one of these categories and its not the second one. All the various suggestions I have found (disable multithreading, switch to vulcan, etc etc) have not made a blind bit of difference. I'm this close to applying to Steam for a refund.

Intel i7-13700, 64gb RAM, RTX 4070Ti. About a year old, so shouldn't be having trouble with this.
