POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Very unlikely they would turn off multithreading during loading because it makes the game look extremely janky. The framerate tanks, the load takes quite a bit longer and they know they would have a 5000 page thread in this forum from all the people who have just had their map efficiency slightly cut.

They would have to make it opt in - which means adding to options or UI which is a bigger job than just cutting it and likely, they've already thought about that but rejected it for the moment because it'll take a chunk of time they could be using to find the problem.

Likely, they are having trouble replicating the issue and no news just probably means that they do not yet know how to solve it.

You haven't read any of this thread have you? OS version has very little to do with this.

Already told. These "tourists"(c) never ever read the thread. They read only topic title and post immidiately ignoring everything community posted before.

"Hey guys! I have new 100% working way to avoid the crash: roll back to 23H2 because this bug related to 24H2. You posted so many messages and somehow didn't manage to figure out. Thanks to me now you know the way."(c)

Some of you have absolutely no idea the scope of the issue. These "100%" fixes, that are not 100%. I'm thankful for ppl that share what has worked for them. But some of yall need to stop stating your fix as a gospel truth and getting pissy about others not doing the same.

I've rolled back my version of win 11 and I've disable multithreading, along with everything else that's out there. "Just disable the cores in task manager" - yeah, can't because the system crashes before I can even mouse over to task manager when launching the game. Also set a rule with process lasso for the cores. Nope, still a crash.

Hoping for an actual fix some day from GGG...
The "known issues" post was updated today, but it still points to 24H2 for PC crashes when many of us aren't on 24H2. I don't think they actually changed that bullet as they added other issues to it. It would be great to get any sort of communication about the issue.
Yeah, I've just checked - I'm Win10 22H2

Can everyone please stop posting fixes that either don't work or temporarily work then break again or simply you think its what fixed it but it just randomly stopped and then breaks again. NON OF THIS WORKS.

THE ONLY SOLUTION IS STOP PLAYING UNTIL THEY FIX IT.

THIS. So much fake news "i've fixed it with xyz". You've not fixed it. You can only limit and mitigate the crash with affinity/poeuncrasher.

23H2 users, how is your game performing after the patch?

It was working fine with POEUnlocker, but today all of the sudden tons of stutters and sometimes even unplayable... and still no update from GGG.
Sadly, POEuncrasher is no longer working for me. It's gotten far worse. Crashes are happening when just starting the game. POEuncrasher does not disable the CPU cores during startup, only during load screens.

Can we ask the POEuncrasher author (if you're here!) to please disable cores on POE start up as well?

Thanks!!

OR... GGG or Microsoft please get a fix for this asap!
Wrote here couple of times, last time on December 22.

I played 100+h on Win 11 23H2 without a single crash, updated to 24H2 and started to hard freeze almost every hour.

Later on I rolled back to 23H2 and 0 (!!) hard freezes for almost 10 days.

Until...

Until I bought a new PC as a late Christmas present, which had Win 11 24H2... and here we go again.

At this point TBH I don't rly care if it's Windows problem or game's problem, but I can't afford to brick my new PC. Have to drop the game until it's fixed. This feels pretty bad as one of the main reason for my PC upgrade was playing this game with higher FPS, and now I can't play it AT ALL.....

GGG, I, as many, MANY others, have supported you with our time, words and money. PLEASE, give us something back. WE WANT TO PLAY THIS AWESOME GAME. HELLOOOOO

Old PC: Ryzen 7 3700X/2060 super/32GB RAM/Windows 11 23H2 -> 24H2
New PC: Intel Core i5-14400F/4070 super/16GB RAM/Windows 11 24H2

P.S. Could anyone with some actual PC hardware knowledge let me know of there is any possibility for my new PC to be damaged at this point after hard resetting once/twice a day for a week or so? I just want to put my mind at ease. Maybe a program to check everything works properly? Thank you.

If you're concerned, simply don't run it.

At worst, spinning disk HDDs could be impacted by force shutdowns, but we're talking a lot of shutdowns.

Aside from that, you're also looking at the risk of data corruption, mostly limited to anything you're running at the time which obviously includes your OS.

The odds of that happening though? Not impossible, but not unlikely either. Really just depends on the state of your pc at the time, and how often you do it. Honestly, you'd probably be more likely having windows brick an update than experiencing an OS corruption from shutting down.

It's still not healthy though, so if you're really concerned then please just wait.
