I agree it's some interaction between the specific setup and the windows kernel/prefetcher etc.

Fast fix first, permanent fix later.

I had it crash on using only CPU 0 for loading a map tonight.

I am on Windows 10. I have this crash since day 1.

There are people on Windows 11 23H2 here, they crash too.

There are people on Linux, they also crash.

The only common variable is that we are all playing PoE2 and tried to change zones in the game.

Also I don't get the point of sending this link as it does not provide anything of value in terms of information.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

As of the latest PoE 2 patch I am now having this issue on my Steam Deck. The last time I checked, most certainly, it doesn't run on Windows 11 24H2. I can tell it is the exact same issue because it behaves exactly like it does on my other machines. The game freezes during a loading screen, the CPU spikes to 100% utilization and 103°C in the process and the device is completely unresponsive. You can't even power it down in that moment, it is only when the CPU eventually hits 105°C that it automatically shuts off. This is an insane amount of heat and no other game has ever managed to do that to my device.

But yeah, surely - must be a 24H2 issue! My ass.

How is this not fixed yet, wow!
Crashing every 10minutes loading into maps.
Game is completely broken and they shouldnt be able to sell it.
I have never seen or heard of a game crashing this much.

There's no point in discussing anything else with the game if you can't get past the damn character selection screen...

My fear with them talking to Twitch streamers is that they'll just get dumb, softball gameplay questions and butt-kissing.

It's sad that we have to hope that this gets addressed via a twitch stream. But even if so, why sandbag it for another few days? Just say something about this already. I assume they'll get soft all questions too however.

I wanted to say that this problem is primarily blamed on POE2, but it looks like the problem is 70% 24h2 and 30% POE2, but the 30% are trying to defend 24h2 that it is a POE2 problem. :)

After entering the map the game freezes, also freezing the system. I will add that I use Win 11 in version 24H2 and surprisingly I did not have such problems before.

I've spent a couple dozen hours testing across win10 and win11, with every possible configuration of nvidia drivers. Every combination has POE2 crashing frequently and other games running fine.

Literally spent my entire holidays testing this.

It's a poe2 problem.

Edit: I've ruled out any possible hardware problems on my side.
