POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" dxdiag utility has nothing to shader processing and / or multithreading. " Or you're unaware of the actual difficulty of the problem. All of these workarounds are unreliable. The only option to play the game without freezing your PC is to isolate the game process inside the virtual machine / container. The complexity of the problem is definitely covers several subsystems, including kernel part of the OS (probably even deeper layers like ring -2, or microcode). PS PoE 2 on Linux still uses Microsoft code via proton. Последняя редакция: cursorTarget#1174. Время: 29 янв. 2025 г., 17:20:19

" If you really believe that then clearly you don't know what you're talking about. Последняя редакция: PaCaTa#3712. Время: 29 янв. 2025 г., 17:41:07

" For me, as well as a dozen of my friends and acquaintances, and many others, disabling multithreading solves the problem 100%. The option to enable and disable multithreading is present in the game and they don't need to write it from scratch. Even a monkey can handle the code to enable and disable it before and after loading. Is it that hard? It's just an incredibly impossible task. Let's give them another half a year to realize it. By doing this they can dig into their code for as long as they want to find the source of the problem, but people will be able to play the game they paid for normally. there is a new windows 11 update that a buddy of mine has suggested may fix the issue,
trying now, maybe can have some luck. It is hard in this situation not to be bitter about it as this problem has gone on for so long. I expected them to be upfront in multiple forums about it so people would be aware. The frustration comes when you get silence about it until now, and that's pretty crappy. I see they've added feedback, but hell how much feedback do they need. just look at this big ass thread. good luck to everyone , hope you guys have some luck |

I tried many different things, and after turning off Nvidia Reflex it stopped freezing for me, been playing for hours without any issues.
Might be a fix for some Ryzen 7 9800X3D RTX 3080 Win 11 24H2 latest updates |

So....
The new video response to POE 1 players ALSO addresses...and does a bit of a mea culpa for the crashes and instability in POE 2. They plan to address this in ver. 0.2.0. He literally describes the issues as major, and does a fair bit of apologizing. Link to the video is in the login screen, and is about 3 and a half minutes. So, it's acknowledgement. They do know what's going on, and the severity of it. That's better than the "We're aware of the problem and thank you for your patience". Maybe there's hope? |
|
" That's a more positive reaction than I had; I hope you're right though. My reaction is the video is not very specific and just references "crashes" and mentions many players having bad experiences and why addressing those things takes priority over POE1 currently. They also talked about not having enough time. Apparently they also don't have enough time to officially let us know anything about this particular issue and when we can expect a fix (if ever). | |
" What's important is to look at what was said and not said at the same time. Listen to what he says about the scheduling, especially with Xmas interfering with plans. That's not the developer talking. That's corporate talking. It wouldn't surprise me if corporate is screwing with developer plans with the game. Cyberpunk is a great example. They knew it wasn't ready and tested on console properly. Corporate wanted an Xmas release. Fast forward, and they lost every dime they made at launch. That SHOULD put the fear 'o hazus! into the devs. In the end, it's a xroads. You can focus on what has been or have hope for what can be. They screwed up. Absolutely. Did they hear the roar of complaints? Very likely. Will they fix it? Worth hoping after that mea culpa video. |
