POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I had to hard-reset my pc now 5 times in the last hour, is this getting worse and worse?

Some reply from GGG regarding this massive problem every month or so would be appreciated.

its not a windows issue.

Windows allows to let it happen. PoE doesn't have access to your hardware.

This is a GGG/PoE2 issue, been well documented and established.
To be honest, if they do not address that issue specifically in 0.2.0—in any form (even just a note saying they've found a way to fix it but had no time)—then chances are they don't even have the slightest clue how to solve it. That's a really bad sign for the future.

If the game continues freezing for so many people (including me, of course), it will quickly drive players to other games. In my opinion, the "help us by sending in DX12 crash reports" approach won't help at all—the game freezes the system; it's not "crashing to desktop." But we will see...

Fingers crossed, and good luck to us all.

You can do some things and catch the exception right before the freeze and then you can generate a dump
Nulled.

Crashing every couple minutes, impossible too play, love this game but cant play it normaly already 3 weeks, GGG just ignoring it thats makes peoples even more angry. DO SOMETHING WITH IT
Anyone tried nvidia's 572.16 drivers yet?
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3073 (KB5050090) this update solved the crash for me. Its from yesterday.
Hi,

I may have a solution. I have had the same issue since I updated to 24H2 and up to recently I was using poeuncrasher to avoid the issue (with varying results).

I also started to have other issues, all related to management of fullscreen/background/foreground display and all seeming to stem from the 24H2 Windows Update :
- World of Warcraft would freeze for up to an entire minute, sometimes freezing other application on my PC. It looked like WoW was reloading all the game assets even though they were already being displayed
- Some videoplayer from streaming services (Netflix, Youtube) would freeze when watching a video in fullscreen and having another application on foreground

The most common fix I found over the internet was to deactivate Windows' MPO (whatever it is) so I gave it a shot and it did solve my issues but also seem to solve POE2 problem. I have been able to play several hours today without a single crash and with overall better performance than previously.

To deactivate the MPO I simply followed the steps on this website :
https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-amd-nvidia-are-all-sleeping-on-windows-11-mpo-display-issues/#add

I am not a tech expert and I have no idea what changed with 24H2, why Windows MPO causes issues or whose fault it is (Microsoft, Nvidia, gamedevs) but I hope it can help both players to solve they issues and GGG to find a fix to this problem.

I have also tried the new Windows update and Nvidia drivers update released in the past two days, they do improve the situation but don't solve every issue so I'll stick with deactivate the MPO.

Finally, my apologies if this has been suggested already. I tried a quick search in this very thread and haven't found anything.

Despite using PoEUncrasher, my game crashed twice within two hours. Tweaking in-game settings does nothing to help. Yesterday, without changing any of the settings mentioned above, I was able to play for four hours straight without any issues. It's really unreasonable.

While the Path of Exile Series does not have an official motto, its core philosophy has always been to provide a deep and complex ARPG experience that is accessible to everyone for free. The series’ free-to-play model is a fundamental part of this vision, as stated by Grinding Gear Games over the years. Therefore, saying that the Path of Exile Series exists to make this genre available to everyone at no cost would not be inaccurate. However, if constantly crashing in loading screen prevents players from playing the game—even after spending money on it—it is fair to say that this vision is not being fully realized by GGG itself. It's just really sad to see GGG not follow its own philosophy.
