POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I just sent the dxdiag info to Timothy at GGG. Since yesterday the game has been completely unplayable for me with constant computer freezes, whereas before the recent patches I had it happen here and there during loading screens and not at this frequency.

Specs: 5800x3d, 4080, 32GB RAM, Windows 24h2.

I'm afraid I have to agree, it's gotten much worse since today. I had 3 freezes in two hours, each time during map transitions. Previously, I had installed the new Windows 11 24H2 update (KB5048667). I cannot play like this...

Had 1 hour after work yesterday and 1 hour today before work...

Freezed 5 times with unavoidable PC reset yesterday, trying to load in town. Then played 30 min.

Today read forum and reddit, found "affinity" solution to PC locking-out. Now it's just game that stucks, I can finish PoE process without reboot...
Still, can't load to location (end of Act 1, the Manor) after 7 trys. 1 hour spend without chance to play.


It was ~30% chance to get freeze on EA start. Now it's at least 80% for me. Dunno, game progression make it worse or game files build.

I need more testing but since yesterday i was not able to go back to town. I just did a mini-testing of 3-4 zones including town (act 2 caravan which i cannot enter no matter what, pc just crash).

Fullscreen the game, downscale the resolution to 77% or something, and a window update (idk what it updates). Somehow magically i can play again. Will be back to gaming once i have time and see if it still crashes

The only "fix" to the crashes that works for me is to disable multithreading every time before you load into a new area and then reactivate it when the area has loaded, which instantly restores the fps back. It is a pain to do every time though, surely ggg can disable multithreading automatically when loading?
