That's a pretty big difference in defence right there though. the way multipliers work, it's diminishing returns, so you're always better double dipping. Also, GGG removed a buttload of the percentaged mana increase nodes to make EB harder to justify taking.

I personally had the problem of ES feeling pretty much useless as it took ages to regenerate, so i tmostly was at 0.

you gotta invest in more es faster recharge rate nodes on the tree

What is the best gem link for 48 lvl for cast on shock with comet? And also a skill tree for that, or u can maybe idk edit skill trees in the 1st post? Or nothing to change in mid game skill tree for that?

I've added the gem links in the guide and for mid game, just put a point in path of winter node.

How about taking shaper of storms in ascendancy? Would it cause shock as well as the freeze build up from using the three dragons unique?

You can, but you'd have to respec your whole tree to support cold skills. hmm. I was actually playing with whisper of the brotherhood to make our comets scale with lightning, but you might be onto something. Let me run some tests, but this could be a gamechanger.

Three dragons needs cast on freeze, it won't wokr with cast on shock until your 4th ascendancy.

if lightning damage is converted to cold, does that mean we benefit from increases to both light AND cold damage?

should we wait until 4th ascend for three dragons?
