Why dedicate my time if I can lose all my XP with a death penalty?

Im deinstalling tomorrow if they dont adress on death effects AND single portal per waystone in the upcoming patch/update.

Ive been playing Level 88 since 6 hours today. T14-15.

I was close to level up 3 times today, but with XP loss penalty from the god fkin on death effects (9/10 times I die to this bullshit)

Another 2 retarded invisible on death effects in a row. I just ragequit with 60% xp.

Im done.

You enjoy a HC Mechanic go play HC. You said you don't have time or patience for it. Neither I and many others have time or patience for 1 portal + Exp loss + on death effects.

I already said in other thread.

6 Portals + Exp Loss = OK
1 Portal + no Exp Loss = OK
1 Portal + Exp Loss = BS

As you, I don't care for the Exp Loss or dying a lot, I don't give a damn to spent 1, 10 or 100 Hours trying challenges like Lord of Cinders, Orphan, Ludwig, Malenia, Messmer, Consort Radahn, Celeste BSides, Hollow Knight Pale Court, etc...

But, feeling the game don't respect my agency in chose Standard or Hardcore, the game don't respect my time invested... it is BS. This Ruthless down the throat attempt is BS.


Fair enough (ish) I didn't see any reason for the portal nerf either but as it's early access I thought I'd give it a shot first. Originally I didn't like xp loss either but, call it Stockholm syndrome or whatever, I quickly came to appreciate it and now I look at defenses and death avoidance completely differently to any other game even if I have the safety net of not losing all my gear if I mess up I still feel it adds some jeopardy rather than bashing my head against a wall until I get there

Dark souls this game is not, I get the comparison but that only lasts for the first three acts

No they do not make me develop skills, they don't benefit me in any way. They just annoy me and waste my time. So that means these designs are a complete failure. So they should just change.

Level 100 was never an achievement, never will be.


im with you on that one, 3rd and 4th ascendency are an absolute joke and theres no need for them to be as punishing as they are, its a game for fuck sake, i play for enjoyment when i have the time and having a full time job and a family permits that. im getting no enjoyment out of it already, game will lose alot of players very soon if things dont change.
I hope GGG doesn't go Blizzard and start wrecking their game following feedback like this.

Death penalty is there for a reason. One portal is there for a reason. If you want to play something where you don't care at all for defenses and playing skillfully, just zoom zoom until you die, portal back and keep going........... I don't know, go play something lame. Defense must matter, situation awareness must matter, juicing only up to what you can take matters.

Not saying the game is perfect, there are deaths here and there that are unfair, from crashes, bugs, on death effects you could never have seen behind loot labels+skills+monsters+walls+rubble+map. That's why they are doing the pause and the pause on disconnect thing. The fix is not to go back but to go forward, improve the pause on disconnect, let us log back in to the same exact spot we were, adjust on death effects, adjust loot, etc.

Maybe chose a different game? How can you be so egocentric to demand that things adjust to you and your needs. Are you this out of touch?
I mean i also work, i dont have time to learn piano, maybe a little bit, but not to be in the same percentile of piano players as lvl95 char is in PoE. Doesnt mean we should lower the bar on piano skills, the concerts would be really shit all of a sudden no?

If you lower the bar so every dad with 4 kids and two jobs can do everything in the game you get diablo 4

LOL bozos like this is who GGG been listening to in PoE1. It further proved that GGG is unwilling to stop designing mobs and mechanics that can one shot player. This is just from the experience in PoE1 league after leagues. They will probably be stubborn about it.

Also seeing people say if XP death penalty gone, GGG will bring more one shots into the game, so XP loss need to exist lol.

Can't believe there are people who think no xp loss = more one shots. How about none of those BS in the first place? It's supposed to be a no brainer.

Delulu players like this bozo are the mayjor reason GGG will never provide proper balancing. Get ready because we are going back to the "you one shot me or I one shot you" game play like PoE1.

Oh yea, just like the HC streamers using log out macros. Why they do that? Because GGG can't balance anything and they find deaths often "unfair". PoE's entire concept of hardcore is and has always been a joke.
I've never logged out of a game because I bit off more than I could chew in my life

That's why I don't play hardcore, necessitating those kind of actions is unfun

I wouldn't call people who don't like xp loss "bozos" either, there's no need

But, I am saying, without any level of setback for failure, this is just another rush game with nothing to differentiate it from the other live service ARPGs currently available, I've played those and to be honest it's incredibly boring in comparison that leaves me feeling empty when I'm done with the season

Is xp loss the only thing that sets it apart? Of course not, but it is one of many reasons I keep coming back to poe where other games sit, bought but unplayed
