State of Early Access Update

worst statement ever, where are the updates 10 WEEKS AND NOTHING HAPPENED
Not going to pretend this post wasn't a massive disappointment. I thought we finally would get some news about what is coming, but this is a nothing burger just summarizing what has been done with a few non-descript lines mentioning things that needs work. Credit where credit is due, there has been good changes done to the game. The ability to telport between the checkpoints in the campaign was much wanted, and got implemented. The ability to replace runes is a massive improvement that opens for making it more easy to replace pieces of gear. But these changes aren't new content. It's not a new weapon. Not a new class. No new skills. Not a new act. It's good changes, but not something that will keep players playing.

I really dislike the idea that every 3+ months is the only times in an Early Access title that was said to be lasting between 6 to 12 months, that there is a major update. If we are seeing increases by +0.1.0 every 3 months at best, that means the Early Access will last for 2 and a half years (30 months) before it reaches v1.0.0, that's quite a massive discrepancy from 6 to 12 months.

Why aren't we seeing in example the Druid class introduced if it's ready? Then a month later, pick from something else that is ready and introduce that. Isn't that a good way to maintain player interest, as well as to get data on what is introduced, instead of data on 10+ different things introduced with a larger update all at once? And isn't this an Early Access title? Why does it feel like we are playing the fully released game with league updates every 3 months outside of small patches to address bugs and introduce smaller QoL implementations?

I am still having fun with the game. HCSSF keep me engaged still. But I have felt rather frustrated with the lack of information shared from GGG these past 3 months. Why are there no teasing of things to come? The same way you are teasing the Ascendancy event for PoE? Tease weapon skills. Tease classes. Tease Uniques. Tease new support skills. Just reveal something and attach a huge fat disclaimer stating something along the lines of;

Things shared in this post is subject to change, and some features may be significantly altered or removed if they do not align with the game's direction.

Being left in the dark just feels like sh-t.

it was ironic that you guys said you focused more on the endgame yet the campaign was a far better experience than endgame.

It's so tedious to set up towers for 30mins-1hour just to have the intended endgame experience. not to mention the insufferable maps you would encounter while mapping to towers (Vaal Factory, Vaal Foundry, Augury, and Mire).

It also doesn't help that you spend all of those hours just to have a RNG drop.

First you have the rng barricade of the ILVL, then you get rng barricade of Item type, then you have to think about RNG barricade of prefixes (imagine getting a shitty prefix with the highest lvl in tiers, now that item isn't "craftable"), and vice versa for suffixes.

THERE IS NO REAL CRAFTING. ARPG DOESN'T MEAN RNG DROPS, CAN WE ACTUALLY GET A REAL CRAFTING MECHANICS IN GAME WHERE WE GET A GUARANTEED FOR WHAT WE WANT TO HAVE IN EXCHANGE OF OUR TIME SPENT IN OUR GAME.

I am pretty sure I speak for the majority when I say that WE WOULD RATHER HAVE A CRAFTING WHERE IT GUARANTEES THE MOD THAT WE WANT IN EXCHANGE OF MORE HOURS SPENT TO ACHIEVE THAT MOD THAN A CRAFTING MECHANIC WHERE IT ROLLS ITEM MODS LIKE YOU'RE IN A LOTTERY RAFFLE.

IT ALSO DOESN'T HELP THAT OMENS ARE SO RARE THAT IT COST SO MUCH THAT IT'S NOT WORTH ON USING IF YOU'RE NOT TRYING TO MAKE A MIRROR ITEM.

So again GGG, scratch the infinite map system and renew the current crafting system those are the major thing why alot of people are quitting because like as I said earlier MAKING SOMETHING MORE TEDIOUS DOESN'T MAKE IT MORE MEANINGFUL AND FUN..

I hope you really understand what the playerbase wants and not what you guys think are right. I have really enjoyed POE2 and have 600 hours. Until some changes happen on the map system and crafting I will not be back as I already know how the endgame will be, thanks for the game and I hope you guys make the right decisions :)

GGG massively fucked up their ealy access to the point where they made they playerbase pay for an alpha test, amazing isn't it.
Also they didn't notice yet, after 10y+ of data from POE1, that deterministic crafting is a fkin core part of what made POE1 a staple of ARPG, even above of the diablo licence.
Ain't speaking of whatever mess still needs to be fixed cause bringing back crafting will give a sense of progression during campaign and midgame, AND will set goals for lategame. Basically, spending hours of farming will results of being able to improve your build garanteed, and will make trading worth cause you thought about a strategy for profit instead of feeling gifted by RNG and selling "type any random valuable item here" to stack gambling currency and pray for another good rng rolls.
Good luck to GGG, cause the 1.0.0 is far way from the 6-12 months announced.
Outside of performance issues, game balance should be your next highest priority. Waiting to implement balance adjustments is a mistake.
plz add unique gear for ranger for explosive damage which it needs plz and thx
A lot of the skills/spells in the game are absolutely not worth using (too weak).

You can swiftly buff them without having to wait for these delayed major balance patches, since the weak skills are used by pretty much no one in end-game.

PoE 2 currently feels extremely stale and boring due to the extremely slow balance updates.
Out of the ten people i knew that played the game, no one is playing at the moment and are not even talking about the game anymore.

The game looks good,
but the mapping is terrible. There are too many obstacles on the maps. The maps are too large. There are dead ends everywhere, each hiding a rare monster. The rare monster is not immediately visible on the map!! Why??

Atlas: The visibility of maps and connections between them needs improvement, especially in mountainous areas.
There should be some kind of search function and highlighting for the maps we want to run. At least make them blink or something! Right now, I have to hover over each map with my mouse just to check the name.

LOOT FILTER: It’s 2025, and this game still doesn’t have an in-game loot filter. LE has it, GD has it, but POE2 doesn’t? Come on!

If you are so insistent that "every item matters" and every craft results in trash, then at least make items drop identified. That way, I can pick up only those that have some chance of being good from the start.

And once again, LOOT FILTER IN-GAME!!
