PoE 2 has lost over 80% of its players in 3 months.
Hi all,
I can only tell you what nearly made me quit after 2 months playing POE2. Its the absolut ridiciolous Endgame Arbiter Fight. I don't want to play an endfight like a Donkey Kong endgame jump & run style. That is NOT why we play a farming game that gives you rewards when you put A LOT OF TIME into it. I expect with a level 91 Necromancer that goes to T16 maps easy to make an endfight because I have strong gear, good stats, good survivability and enough damage to finish the fight in x minutes. THATS WHY I WANT TO PLAY POE AND NOT JUMP AND RUN STUPID POSITIONING. And also the solution to build 1-shot builds to skip these fckng jump/position phases takes out most of the fun game play builds. I am not sure if I invest another 2 months to check that out with a 1-shot build (like my brother did). Greetings Tom |

" Take a break, check out next major update, come back if you like it. This isn't Elden Ring. |

" Do you have any evidence of this? Because in the world I've known, the "majority" of any large enough population is a very lackluster average. Also, the "majority" of people have jobs, responsibilities and even if they didn't, they wouldn't only play PoE in their free time. If anything, the "majority" of people who play PoE probably finish the campaign in a month, barely know how to improve their gear by themselves, map to maybe T3/T4s, if they map at all, and then abandon the game because they don't even really know much of what to do after that, and with their knowledge, reaching T15 maps would probably take hundreds of hours | |
" I have evidence of another thing: I know serveral Dadgamers, they played the first month to 6 weeks, depending on time, and finished the campaign. They didn't look in any way at maps because they knew they wouldn't have time for it. They finished the game content to know in a few months thy could come back, play a new build with more acts. Thats their goal as players. They are finished now. And ho boy, there are many of them. And the other thing: I have a job, standard 40 hours, I have a social life(only not in the first week after launch :D) and I still do my 40 challenges in roughly 4-6 weeks in poe1. Knowledge is the great equalizer. Current Build: Penance Brand

" Yet it amazes me you failed to prove his point wrong. Knowing many ``dadgamers`` does not constitute the ``majority of players`` in the slightest. |

" WE (the PoE player base) know that because Chris Wilson himself said it. So, you are the one just using a lot of words and saying nothing. [Removed by Support]

" When exactly did he said that? Billion years ago when POE1 was launched? Maybe then in 2012, when i assume Steam wasn't that popular platform as now, and before GGG actively begun to promote the game, maybe, just maybe under this and possibly more circumstances the smaller part of playerbase were using Steam. But if you would try to say that 600.000 players peak on Steam is just a fraction of all playerbase now, I would laugh. Because it's a joke. Последняя редакция: JEE_ZUZ#0982. " Dude... this was stated in the last few years. And if you would think for at least one second, you could make out pretty easily WHY most ppl don't use Steam for "Path of Exile". The entire Chinese player base does not use the Steam Client, they have a separate one. Ppl who play PoE1 for a while, even when they started with the Steam Client, switch to the stand-alone version because of the advantages we have in terms of download/league start. Console players don't use Steam either. So, when Chris says that most don't use Steam - most don't use Steam. [Removed by Support]

" His "point" was his own conjecture without any data backing it up. Weird that you haven't called him out ;) Nothing to be amazed about. There was no point to prove wrong, We don't have any data on how successful the majority of players are, what progress they reached etc. Any "point" will be non- existent. His original point was btw a strawman, he couldn't refute the actual argument that regluar poe1 players have decent knowledge about the game in the way of having finished their characters/build (ofc following some kind of statstacker/spark build), so he threw out something about a general majority being a lackluster average. Yes, he said that, beautifully showing that he actually never learned statistics. He suddenly switched the majority of poe1 players to the majority of poe2 players which are very different indeed. My anectotal evidence was based on the second player group. edit: I actully tried to find data of average players hours anywhere, but data is inconclusive. There is no real stats page, only polls and ssteam comments with hours stats Current Build: Penance Brand God build?! https://pobb.in/bO32dZtLjji5 Последняя редакция: tsunamikun#0433. " I don't watch the interviews of the last few years only to find the quote. Look it up yourself if you cannot believe it. Just a thought experiment: The "Ultimatum" league had a player peak on Steam of 154k ppl, BUT the league had massive stability problems on league start so... on the "Frankfurt" realm ALONE we had a 150k-200k queue. That means, even the "Frankfurt" realm alone would be enough to "host" every single Steam user. So... do all the other realms around the world not exist? I guess so... [Removed by Support]
