I'm mostly on this forum due to seeing the long time players shit bricks at anything GGG posts, as if they, the creators of the game they invest all their time into, are actual villains 😂
Stop trying to polish the turd, put lipstick on a pig, etc etc
I know ur pot committed to this horrible idea, but it's time to let it go. Towers are boring and the concept sucks, need to scratch the whole idea and come up with a better design.
Please of the name of god, do something with the performance. I understand my 5950x and 3070 isnt that new anymore, but spawning in a map, droping from 120 (I play on potato quality btw) to 20 FPS is just really bad.
I also had to stop play Frost Mage Minions because the minions have such bad performance, I would run around with like 15 FPS. Right now I am enjoying Monk but the cold explosions causing crazy drops as well.
Like new content is great but please, improve the core of the game first.

(I dont know why I am typing this, pretty sure they wont check comments but anyways here I am)

Absolutely, we have drops to 15-20fps on the consoles as well. This is one of the worst optimized game on the consoles right now. I don't know how it can be after 4 years of development.

“Towers have the same clear requirements as maps” The best part of towers was that I didn’t have to hunt down all the rares to clear them. There should be some way to make towers feel rewarding without turning them into maps. Chance to drop unique tablets on tower completion, different drop pool or even currency drops when activating a tower. Towers didnt feel rewarding enough so we made them identical to maps is not it.

I don't see how any of those support gems help build diversity, They are all bad and so are the uniques. GGG's obsession of every good thing needing a draw back seems to have ramped up with PoE 2.

Well, I like the idea of towers and tablets, but I feel just turning them into another standard map with a different tileset is not enough.

First, we need many original layouts/tilesets, at least 8-12 so they don't feel graphically repetitive. I believe currently there are only 4.

Second, we need to be excited to do these towers. Obviously not as much as the big endgame forteresses, but enough so we want to go there. For that, I suggest each layouts type has an unique (mini)-boss associated with it and maybe some specific loot boost for some target farming (ie : one has more Axes, another morr Swords, yet another more Helmets, etc).

Basically, make them interesting to run and not be just another basic map.

While I kinda liked the tower idea at first, after playing with it for a while it started to be not fun at all. You basically path through 5-10+ maps to juice up towers so that you could do like 5 or so juiced maps. Therefore meaning you are spending more of your time preparing for fun maps than actually doing fun maps. Making tower maps have the same requirements now as normal nodes just prolongs the unfun "prep phase", which isn't a good step in the right direction in my honest opinion...
