Path of Exile 2 - 0.2.0 Teaser Thread
The update to towers essentially turns them into a regular map with tower devices. Unfortunately, because of the stigma against tower maps, I don't think this change will be welcomed by most players.
A better idea might have been to replace tower maps altogether with actual maps and have a tower in them. Essentially getting the same end result but without the hate against towers. Also after going back briefly to poe1 for the Phrecia update, the RNG heavy nature of poe2 as a whole (crafting, stumbling onto citadels, random sanctum for ascendency, etc) feels even worse than before. After the initial excitement of playing a new poe washes away, it gets really boring pretty quick. I think I'll play the upcoming race event but will go back to mainly playing poe1 until a future significant update to poe2. |

Hi GGG,
Can you made the option to show tier of Suff/Prefix on item permanently? It's super useful to sort item quickly. I'm on controller and i need to hover over items hold R to show. Thanks you. |

"I think what would help would be introducing Orb of Horizons into PoE 2, which rerolls a map node into another random node that can occur within that biome. Something like a Cartographer's Orb would be welcome, too; it could allow you to create a path between two nodes (as long as neither of them would have more than 5 connections, or exceed a certain distance apart). |

I'm just gonna leave my hot take so the thread isn't all negative.
" I actually like this change a lot. Right now I've been plugging in tier 1 waystones to towers since there hasn't been any incentive to actually run those maps but with bosses and other mechanics not only does it feel more like you earn the tower but also makes it less of a boring routine. I personally tried PoE 1 again after a very long time because I didn't want to burn out on PoE 2 while it still doesn't have even half of the content ready (most classes / skills / ascendancies / chapters 4 - 6 missing and GGG IIRC admitted that the end game only had a couple of months development behind it) but I honestly quit after hitting Lioneye's watch, the game felt unplayable to me. PoE 2 on the other hand crashes at least once per hour for me but it hasn't bothered me so much yet since I like the game so much (and I can forgive it since it is in early access). I was hooked straight from act 1 since the boss gameplay of the game was so incredibly good. I think the game has the potential to be the greatest ARPG ever and I'm willing to let GGG cook, even if it takes them more than a year. I hope GGG really takes the feedback to heart but doesn't just give in to the player base and do everything they are saying. PoE 1 has built up the mechanics that it has over 10 years, I hope that PoE 2 can get the same chance and the player base can grow up with the game instead of trying to add as many PoE 1 mechanics in to the game as the player base requests. |

But then Endgame is still crap... Guys, the problem isn't the towers. It's the shitty layout of the atlas and the fact that you can't choose the map layout. A simple question to the developers: How long does a player play a game where he is forced to do things he doesn't really want to do?
PS: It would be nice if you extend the PoE event as the PoE2 patch will be uninteresting for many. |
