Do you guys want to lower monster speed?

I made a slow-aura chronomancer and found it removed all the threat from any enemy. Could just walk around them while they were stuck in slow-motion. (Its a better defense than life/armour).

Slowing enemies too much does risk removing the hazard they pose, but they move way too fast as they are now.

With +30% movement on boots i cant make enough distance from most enemies to get my attacks off without being stunned.

Brother, buy Bora with 20% additional speed and stop being bad, the game has to be harder, if it's hard, keep improving 1 monster at a time lol

it is not about difficulty.. it is about the weird feeling when all monsters move at double of your speed roughly. It does feel weird.
Even weirder is how does a warrior move faster and feel better than the huntress. Are the devs that out of touch with their game and the development?
GGG wants us to do combos while the mobs move faster, cast/attack faster and use all their mods at the same time. (On death) DOT effects & homing projectiles add to the fun as do the new ailment threshholds.

As a result, the most important skill for my huntress is the Spearfield ...

My advice to GGG:
Turn down monster movement-/skill- speed by 5-10%
Decrease player immobilisation times by 50%
Decrease projectile and DOT area spam frequency by rares/magics by 30-50%
Decrease on-monster-death DOT by 30-50%

Slightly lower monster speed would, imho be logical since the game is slower. No, no need cut to half as some people say. Just some 10-15% negative speed boots on all of them.

Eh... not all of them. The already slow monsters like zombies are already so slow they're basically pointless.

Make the faster monsters a little slower, and the slow monsters a little faster.

I'd prefer to increase player speed, and mostly through opt-in trade offs. I don't mind the idea of occasionally being confronted by some monsters that happen to be strong against us due to our build's specific weaknesses. I kind of assumed that's always been an intended part of the game.

I like what GGG are trying to do, but I think the 'slow and methodical' description should be taken with a grain of salt. Instead we should simply be trying to avoid mindless blaster game-play.

I don't want mindless zooming, but I also don't want a boring game.

So my question is: Do you want to lower monster speed? Or do you think something else is the problem/solution?

Also, this idea kinda brings with itself the question:

Do you like/want the idea of skill combos?

My concern if the combo system is gone, is that it would just make the game too similar to poe1. And at that point, just develop poe1 instead of kinda making a 'copy' of it.

What do you guys think; I really want to know your opinion on this.

I think some monsters speed should be lowered and some monsters action speed should be lowered but not to the point of being slower than player, they just need to be tuned down somewhat.

The idea of skill combos is fine however I don't think all classes should have that and some should just be simpler to play while other more complicated.

PoE2 should still have similarity to PoE1 (not speaking about 1 button screen blasts) since after all, both are Path Of Exile. If PoE2 gets to be entierly different from PoE1 then it shouldn't be called PoE2 in first place.
Monster speed adjustment should be done with consideration to char build and power. Mob speed and density both in particular.

Some build require a lot of kiting and rounding up mobs for mass clear chain boom effect. Slowing mobs benefits char build that focus on clearing small packs by packs. As the char progress and has the power to clear mobs easy in one or few hits, it will need the mobs to keep up with them for gameplay efficiency

They can slow the mobs early in the game and make them faster as you progress further in to the game.
From what I heard in the last interview they already are on the perfect approach. They'll just nerf the swarminess of what is outrageous. Which is quite a few places.

Sounds good to me.
