Thank you Jonathon for at least trying.
Awwww, very lovely and sweet message.
Too bad he doesn't read the forums. See if you can get a streamer to read your message and maybe he'll hear you. |

I know someone who really liked poe 1 and has 6000 hours in it. On EA release he played poe 2, but he has only maybe 80-100 hours in this game. He says he really likes the game, how difficult it is, but he never played the patch 0.2 now.
You know why? Its not his favorite game. He has many other games he enjoys actually more. So what i notice, is that people who actually enjoy the state of poe 2, are not calling poe 2 there favorite game. Maybe the are allrounds and switch between different games and different genres. So they play it a few hours and switch to different games later, but call it a good game. I dare to say, that grinding gear games is not living from these kind of players. Maybe its cool to get now players to poe 2, but many switch there games like there underwear. So many people who are screaming very loud for changes in poe 2 are playing that game as there favorite game. And they live for it, maybe earn money as streamer. Edit: Of course i dont have any statistics for it or numbers for it to prove it. Its just something what i personally witnessed. Последняя редакция: bennisen#4006. Время: 11 апр. 2025 г., 16:42:20

" If they want this game to have actual longevity they should just follow the footsteps of their OWN game, its called poe 1 and its massively more fun in every regard compared to this. |

I'm reminded of a comment from one of the developers of Valheim where he said it's always better to release a game or content update that's too hard than one that's too easy. The reason is that, when you try to correct it, a lot more players will be upset if an easy game is made more difficult than if a difficult game is toned down. It feels a lot worse for the player to be nerfed than for the content to be nerfed.
We're seeing this play out now, but GGG has admittedly made it worse by taking a very clumsy approach with Dawn of the Hunt where they nerfed pretty much everything into the ground. Some interactions and combinations needed to be nerfed, but GGG went way too far. I like Jonathan's vision in concept, but Dawn of the Hunt wasn't it. What they are striving for with PoE2 is a very difficult thing to balance and get right, they are going to make a lot of mistakes as they try to hone in and calibrate the experience. The sort of reflexive "buffs will ruin the game and turn it into D4" isn't any better than "nerfs will ruin the game." Instead, we should assess the various changes and provide feedback. Jonathan has a vision for the game, but GGG is going to need help executing on that vision. Early Access is the appropriate time for these lessons to be gleaned. |

Every arpg that tries to bring something new to the table and improve the depth of the moment to moment gameplay or tactics, gets swarmed by the zoomboom spreadsheet clicker type crowd who ruin it and make it same as the last one, then tell others how the game is fixed now.
PoE streamers raised on an abstract, simple math simulator, half auto battler, no wonder they oppose sth resembling a proper video game. |

" Same could be said for your side of the argument. Y'all are no better. I got the sauce.

" Another fanboy who played like < 200 hours and stack at low tier end game. People never complained about difficulty, they complained about how slog fest 0.2 became. killing white mobs for 20 hits and run full acts and then maps with 0 rare loot - thats not about the difficulty at all, its about slog fest and bad design. Moreover go try some fireball sorcerer, any sort of infernalist or any non 0.2 meta build. I bet you will fail. GGG just killed versatility - all 3 viable builds just not nerfed to death yet just because GGG forgot to do that so you can play meta huntress. You can tell us how good “at your pc” and you find everything, but statistics not on your side.

They lost literally half of their players from 0.1 to 0.2... sure, they should stay on this trajectory. I am sure it will work out in the end.

Poe 2 isn't even a particularly difficult game, it's not extremely easy, but it's far from difficult. I see it similarly, if this continues and they continue to adapt to the masses, the game will die. If you make a game for everyone, you make a game for no one. The majority of people don't want a challenge and want easy cost, that's why the majority of mainstream media is such extremely superficial garbage. Be it movies, music or video games. Please don't let poe 2 be part of that.

" Agree. I was happy with the 0.2 patch. Having said that, some of the changes over the past week are an improvement. Act 1 as a Witch was simple, just took more time than I expected because of changed layouts. Did not die until Geonor and then only twice. Act 2 died once on Rathbreaker, then not again until Jamanra where it took me 30 tries and 5 hours of research changes to gear change to build spec etc. Currently in Act 3. Died once getting swarmed in Drowned City and a couple of times in the forge. But managed Aspect of Filth without dying. So, so far I have not seen a lot of the issues people complain about. Especially the wolves in Act 1, which as a Witch were easy to avoid and on my Huntress just died in 2 hits (before they were nerfed) |
