I think No Rest for the Wicked is a great example. The game had huge hype of being this Dark Souls ARPG, but it completely tanked and nobody said shit about that garbage after the day of release. Very few people want to play the slog game. Dark Souls enjoyers that think they are so good at hard games (that aren't actually hard) are the majority of people who play games. They want the next hot new game to cut out the ultra casuals that find Dark Souls hard so they can maintain their superiority complex.

Eh, Act 3 was too long so they shortened it. They didn't remove any hard parts, only the tedious ones.
Rares not being visible wasn't working, especially with how uncleared rare could cause you to backtrack when you find a wisp. Respeccing ascendancy is fine. I don't see why it would be bad if people invest into swapping from elemental monk into chaos monk or vice versa. It just gives more options to player. The game is much better, but they need to keep powerlevel down. Nerf lightning spear ASAP. Unsure why some of the campaign mobs got nerfed because of one weak streamer though. Only 30% of players are playing, they lost 70% of population. Majority hate the 0.2 and didnt even log in. Thats not success at all, and the mostly negative reviews on steam wont get them much new players at all.
Game is in pitty state. Jonathan vision failed so hard that he might not survive his position if Tencent will see the reduce in money income. So he failed really hard. Game is not fun anymore, was great in 0.1 and now its not. |

" I wholeheartedly agree with you. And I also think that it's better for us that Jonathan is in charge of running GGG since he's the one who has the guts to make poe2 a slower game than poe1. I think all of us would be better off if Chris is no longer around. I would imagine that after facing so many complainers whining about the slower gameplay of poe2, Chris would probably backtrack and immediately make poe2 to be like poe1. I wish that Jonathan will stand firm in his "Vision" and not to pander to the unreasonable complaints of all those whiners. 34pre98qua

Comparing this to the Lazy Effort that is Diablo 4 is just ridiculous.
Sure the game feels a little easier at some points still....but it is far from that trivial chore. As for balancing the game to where it is in a good spot, that will swing both ways and it is better that it happens now in EA, than after launch....so hopefully they will keep at it and get to a sweet spot. They are not doing the game easier, they are fixing what are not working at all or working bad... and thats the way to follow for have a good game... Go play D4 or No rest for the wicked, this is PoE2 my friend and have a lot of changes to do for be at least so fun like PoE 1. Im trying to having fun with this 0.2 but i cant. So many balances problems, so many bugs, and progression system needs to improve so much more, when you reach tier 1 now its better explained but its SO REPETITIVE, not improved enough... i finished the 15+ missions and now im tired of playing, i don have any more motivation to continue and kill Pinacle bosses because takes too long to reach this point, now the citadells... so so many maps. On PoE 1 need less maps to finish and Atlas and Pinacle, and get betters rewards. In this endgame i felt bored and tired to finish the t15+ missions (at leats 5 or 6 maps for tier).. and the balance for classes and skills... wow, need too much work... But ill trust again next big content patch and try to forgett all this problems because i love the game and i hope and trust in GGG to still improving |

I am curious how "streamers ruin games"?
legacy POE streamers, you know those guys not being paid by GGG, have logged tens of thousands of hours each and know the mechanics by heart better than anyone working at GGG. These guys have probably spent more time than this theory crafting to promote POE to hype the community to play the game before every season. What a bunch of douchbags right? How dare they!! I only turn to streamers when I hit a wall or to see what the best spectre is or something like that. I do this to save time. I have an idea of a build, I try it, mix it up and try different things. If at that point I am struggling will turn to streamers to see what I am missing, if anything. Normally my builds are good enough to hit mid tier maps regardless of what I choose. But During this time I have earned enough currency to work on my main build so the next campaign run takes 75% less time. Now with 0.2 there are 2 builds, not OP in any sense of the word. These are barely on the cusp of needing buffs themselves. They are "working builds" to varying degrees but in no way a normal meta. They are the best of the worst. |
