Why Does PoE2 Keep XP Loss on Death?

word, people need to find a way to die less. If there isnt a way to die less then the problem is game balance, not that a penalty exists.

It's a different time. It's widely known mechanic of the brand which prevents people from investing time because that is specifically what you're taking away.
They got a lot of normie money from 0.1 and those numbers are going away, never to return.
It will happen if the business model takes enough of a revenue hit.

You sound so certain...You do know their business model has already proven successful prior to the number of players that poe 2 brought in right? Leagues will come out, and there will be a lot of people, the league will age and the numbers drop, and the cycle continues. This isnt a new feature that poe 2 brought.

You know what their revenue is? How much have they lost? At what point does tencent force their hand(an investor notorious for their hands off approach)?

It's never going away, just uninstall and move on. It's not your loss it's theirs you were a potential longterm paying customer.

That is a terrible argument.

First off lets just face the reality that the overwhelming majority of these "bugs" and "random one shots" that you guys claim to be dying to just dont exist. It is purely just a skill and or knowledge problem. You dont understand what killed you so in your world its a bug.

Putting that aside if we just for the sake of argument assume you are correct.

What should we do if the game has bugs?

A) Fix the bugs

B) Change important aspects of the gameplay mechanics which also removes the oppertunity to get proper feedback on these mechanics.
Its never going away for very good reasons.
And the players advocating for it being removed just lack fundamental understanding of how game development works.

Not only is it not being changed but its also basicly never even mentioned or brought up as a question. This is because everyone who has even the slightest understanding of how gameplay mechanics should work understand how ludicrous removing it would be.

Then the solution is to remove or reduce the penalty while they figure out balancing.
