How about leveling process?
Focus on armor early on? or armor/ES mix ?
For the passive tree, Go south for the beginning ? (sturdy metal, defender's resolve, polished iron, blade catcher, vigilance, and all the max resistances ?)

It only makes sense to put things on the energy shield when you take the Ancient Aegis at level 60:
