Headhunter cost about 28 Divines.
HoWA with 1-12 lightning damage per 20 int, cost about 11 divines.
The rings cost on average 4 to 5 divs, so 13 divs give or take.
Has noticeable mana issue.
Can't do "offscreen" because not using projectiles.
Has 2,3k HP , no ES and low evasion. Close to have no defensive layers.

A total of 128 divines, not counting Olroth flask (9-10 Divs) and megalomaniac.

Can't even kill rare monster in 2-3 hits with this amount of investment, and has issues in fighting map bosses, let alone pinnacle bosses. Not even showing what kind of map mods in the showcase.

For sure you have nothing more to say, because you don't have any to begin with nor understand the game. You just hate Lightning Spears just because, you hate lightning spear because its popular and proven to be effective and efficient, you hate lightning spear because the streamers say its the "best" skill currently.

If you play a "regular" build, like the game generally tries to push you towards, there's little to no opportunity to even amass enough resources to build something like this, so people play LS because it's one of the only good, cheap options available

So, you're right in many ways. A top 1% player makes a top 1% build and then 80% player base copies it now and then GGG balances around it.

Now, you're wrong on finding valuable items. I pick bases, transmute them and aug them ALL OF THE TIME. I keep the most promising for regal and slam till it sucks. I'm very picky but it works pretty well.

In terms of making your own builds. You're also right. When the game first release last year, I was able to do combos all of the way to Waystone 15+ just to force myself to play as intended. Content creators starting asking for faster gameplay and now combos don't quite work well. You have to do 1 button kind of builds for end game. The other issue is the end game isn't worth it at this time to really explore making end game builds. It should be about exploring skills and combos through the campaign right now. I think the biggest mistake GGG made was making waystones available at all. They should get rid of it for a full patch and make it so you can enhance campaign areas and focus on combos until they get all of the interactions and things right. They made two different games in one.

I do this too, but in SSF not enough currency drops to reliably do this, and after moving to trade league, why would anyone do it?

You're almost always better off saving whatever currency you have to trade with because there's little to no way to craft an item reliably; it's pure gambling.

There are at least 2 other builds for just Huntress alone (Bleed for example) that do just as well. LS is by no means the only skill for the class but it is one of the top ones for sure.
