'Fixing' loot is only treating the symptom of the disease. Not the actual disease

They really think that Tier 1 shouldn't be the best stat. Every other logical place that has ranking always lists the best as #1. Fix the item tiering now.
If you make a game for sweat lords only, then that's all you'll have left.

If you make a game for everyone you make a game for no one
Loot might be symptom of the disease but Jonathan is the cure.

And if you are ok with a small population and fewer updates and a longer dev cycle, then you are good to go. I suspect you are not though.

They are now patching in more/better loot, so it seems like they agree. A good sign.
"Are you juicing your maps" to the players is not the right approach

"Is the gameplay loop fun?" to the devs is closer to the money. Running around with white waystones looking for tower overlaps on a randomly generated overworld map and running around your target area for hours to set it up for loot drops is not a fun time. It gets old fast. The point you're making is true that the economy is relative, but this tower situation really needs to be addressed.

If you remove all friction from a game there will be no reason for people to keep playing it.

It's similar to why nobody can make a successful extraction shooter that can surpass escape from tarkov. All the new games try to remove all the friction in the game to appeal to casuals. However when they do this there is no reason for players to stick around and play the game for an extended period of time. Theyu will play the game for a week or two get bored and move onto something else

Friction keep more players playing for a longer period of time.
Feels much better after the update.

Maybe casuals should actually learn how to play the game. Like are casual players dumb? I don't see why devs should dumb games down to appeal to casual people. They should just learn the game they are playing. It's not very hard.

I mean you can't take an extra two minutes to properly juice your map in order to get a reward? If thats the case then you don't deserve good loot.

so you buy their microtransactions if you are so happy, but I am not happy, and I won't be. So let's see who is right)
I've concluded that OP is absolutely right. It's a skill issue masqueraded by shouting and projections of a problem onto the developers. Loot right now is way too strong.
