Exp loss on death is too punitive.

It's not a problem that players are killed. The crux of the problem is that all kinds of inexplicable sudden deaths can't be seen.
Then let's add brainless to increase life and shield. Is this meaningful?

I agree that's the problem. Request changes to that. These constant threads about XP loss are a distraction.

GGG has shown so far they are unable to fix that. Fixing the death penalty is an easy straightforward fix until they finally get their shit together

Omen of Amelioration is fairly cheap this season. With the updates they just made to improve end game drops and tons of new chase items, why can't they bandaid exp loss on death with an improved exp loss Omen? Make it somewhat of a chase item so it's only desirable for folks farming super late game.

Have a 90%, 95% or even a 100%.

The exp loss on death mechanic as it stands is too punitive. The ratio of exp able to be gained in an individual endgame map, versus that which is lost on death, is completely out of proportion.

Also exp loss if retained at all should occur on map failure, not on death. When dying meant failing the map it was understandable, but to potentially lose over 60% level progression from exp loss in a single map is egregious and overly punitive.

I don't understand the balance changes between campaign and endgame. Endgame is punitive well past the point of being fun.

It feels odd to play a game that is entirely based on defense and lame exploits. It also feels odd to not be able to play the good maps.

I am not sure what the "vision" was, but this game feels a bit like a slot machine and not like a skill based game. Death only comes random and the XP loss makes sure players learn to hate the randomness.
