Why is everyone so assmad over towers?

I haven't kept up with 'The Community', mostly because this forum is an evil stinking cesspit of ugliness that makes me hate not only this game but every other game, too. But I will admit to some real confusion over the fact that people seem to just be absolutely and irreconcilably hateful over towers.

Like...what's the problem? Is it really, truly just people being completely unable to cope with "having" to run a "bad layout" once in an occasional while? is there an actual complaint behind towers, or is this just more of "We hate PoE2 make it work exactly and precisely like this other game we already have and can play freely so we can make all the people who wanted the new game cry and leave"?

its just fomo, they even spoke about it in the interview. if people don't run the 'juiciest of juicy maps' they feel like they are 'wasting their time'. div per hour mindset etc etc.
i don't get it either. the current version isn't too bad imo.

Pretty much this, it's people playing for the trade market rather then playing the game
You can argue that a challenge can be annoying to some people who just wanna blast and dumpster everything, or fun to those who enjoy challenges.

But a bad layout is a bad time, there's no debate about it and some poe2 maps have egregiously bad layouts. If you are getting forced to have a bad time, is it that surprising that people start complaining. We play games to have fun after all, not to get forced to do things that aren't fun.
PoE 2 endgame is hunting for towers and hoping its not near water.While you are searching for the sweet spot of towers you are basically going trough rubbish hoping that you dont hit tower spot near water.

Towers would be fine i guess if they werent main source of juice and that we actually could use scarabs/fragments in same spot where we put our maps and tower would just be as some sort of multiplier or they would change how certain content works or something

This whole idea of running maps without content in them while running towards towers is stupid.



in general the current PoE2 atlas strips away layers of player freedom and agency that players enjoy in PoE1... in the content they're running and the way they're playing the game (every map requires completion).

it's an inferior proposition.
YEah I never understood that mentality. People.. you are playign a fantasy game about killing monsters. You are nOT achieving anythign real.. we are all here to "waste" our time.

Because I allocated my time to have FUN. not to be productive. My productive time is allocated at work. For me having FUN in the path of the game is using well my gaming time. I literally could not care less for farming efficiency as this is not an MMO or something that I need to keep up with anyone else.
