I'm 100% experiencing this too.
I have no idea WHO exactly asked for "Ruthless" in POE and yet there it was... and now this individual seemed to have been involved in POE2. It's a slog. It's not fun. It's so damn slow. It's overly difficult. It's resetting zones and bosses on any death.
It's darksouls. Full stop.
All I can ask for of GGG is that they branch off an entire dev team for POE1 and continue to develop POE1.
By all means: make this POE2 game for like 10% of the masses... if you have an audience for it: congrats! But this game is so night and day to POE1. It's comparable only to POE1 Ruthless (which coincidentally NO ONE plays).
PLEASE give us a new POE1 league every 3 months with new content.
I'm not here to take anything away from POE2 enjoyers by the way. I get it: I suck, I need to get good, etc etc etc.... and I honestly am happy for you that you get a new game you can love and enjoy.
HOWEVER - I also want to love and enjoy POE1 some more... and consistently provided new content and leagues there.
The only people who enjoy POE 2 (POE 1 ruthless) are those who play 10 hours a day. For those people who have work, POE 2 (again POE 1 ruthless) isn't for them. But guess what, majority of the players who bring funds to the game are the casual players who have regular jobs but do not have regular time playing the game that supposedly would help them reset stress levels. But it turns out that playing POE 2 (yes, POE 1 ruthless) adds more stress.
I work full time and currently enjoy POE 2. It has problems but it can still be fun.

Except it is. It is poe 1 on monsters but nerfed players. You seen the monster density from abyss in maps? Poe 1 level if not more.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

There's nothing i wanted more than POE2 to be the next POE1 with a better engine.
But instead we got this slop. it's really depressing.

It looks like PoE2 is just not for you?
1. Sprint is not perfect but the intend of sprint was not to avoid enemy attacks, it is meant to just move faster out of combat. Every boss was designed before sprint so for slower player movement and dodge. Changing the sprint to work in combat would make boss fights less challenging.
2. For me the speed of the game is really good and I enjoy every moment of it.
3. I blindly picked up a melee to play this league without preparing the build before and I would say melee is too strong, I just kill everything too fast, I don't know boss mechanics because they also die to fast...
4. You have a large variety of skills for each class that you should have skills that also can kill a group of mobs so it's more your problem not the game.
5. Melee is very strong right now. And yes, sometimes basic attack is the best but it's ok, it is also an utility that can be used during fights.
6. Variety of builds could be improved, but it is what they did this league and probably it will continue to improve.

If you can't clear the campaign, the issue isn't the game.
True story: I got my friends to hop on for the first time since the beginning of the last league.
I made a sorc and we teamed up and headed out into the starting area just outside of town in act 1.
I got one shotted.
Twice.
In the starting area.
One shot death in the very first zone outside of clearfell.
Read that again.
The issue is 100% absolutely the game.
It's ok to die in a video game, next time avoid the big gigantic AoE on the ground and equip armor with stats.
Where's he getting armor with stats at that point in the game? That marker for the aoe is almost as dark as the ground. It's understandable if it gets missed.
Seems like you just want to argue.

When I like a game, it makes me happy, I play it, I don't go to the forums :)

1. Sprint is badly made. You dodge roll into a run ... ok ... but it takes time and is useless for avoiding any AOE attacks. It also is very prone to getting rolled by a random enemy. Maybe you should make a new skill ... call it ... uh ... maybe "Dash" or "Frost Blink" or even "Flame Dash" to add variety? No? Sigh.
Why are you trying to avoid AOEs with a traversal ability? Its a sprint. It is for running. If you want to dodge, use the dodge.
