Auction house will destroy economy until you add this option
" Somehow I strongly doubt most people would do this. Why would you hop into a hack-and-slash ARPG just to sit in your hideout flipping items all day? I'm not saying absolutely nobody will do this. Of course there will be some who will dedicate their time buying low and selling high. However, their numbers would pale in comparison to the amount of people who play to run the campaign and grind maps. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" They can't anyways because instant trading requires gold when purchasing. So if they want to flip they first need to spend gold to acquire the item and the gold cost can be high fast. This is a non issue, it's only the same loud minority trying to seize the means of production. LootingGucciIsReparations.jpg Последняя редакция: Oinkaments#6390. Время: 6 сент. 2025 г., 15:26:53

No way this idea is good for the game. When I buy an item that is halfway to my min/max, I want to sell that to someone who is coming up and needs it.
If you want to stop people flipping, play SSF. It doesn't happen there. If you don't like flipping and want to play a trade league, tough luck. Play Lost Epoch. |

It's nice to have a conversation, I think some people misunderstand. I do not want the whole trade to become soulbound - I want to pick my items to be soulbound for the people I'm selling. EA is a good way to test it out, and you will see prices will normalize, and it will benefit ALL the people besides flippers and those who abuse the trade market.
That's all it is to it. The currency market would need some work, too. Today, there was a situation when somebody dropped down divine to 40 ex and then pumped it up to 70-90 for a couple of minutes. Clearly, there is some shady work in the economy. |

" don't have to do it all day, its just way more efficient than farming currency. you can make more in one trade than a whole day of playing. also this was just my contra argument to 'diversifying the fun' main point being that the less friction the trade has the higher the floor is for average player to use said trade in its intended form. and OP actually attempts to address this issue, unlike people that embrace it, for some weird reason. but i'm not going to explain that one here also gold tax is just extra step, very easy step at that |

" That's a fair point, I forgot that gold is required to engage in this method of trade. So yeah, it's a non-issue. You wanna spend all day flipping, you need to put in the time first. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

" Thanks, great to see someone understands. This is exactly the issue and I think we should prepare for it as it will become more relevant when PoE 2 goes f2p and more people will give it a go. People defending the issue as you say is kinda crazy Gold issue is non-issue, it's bypassed by Castaway map selling. You get millions of gold for 10-20 ex, so saying you " You wanna spend all day flipping, you need to put in the time first." is not true, it's not like you need to do mapping or have a build, you can enter with level 1 character, grab a gold and then leave and you will have enough to flip thru mirror of items in one go. Sounds good on a paper but in reality it will lock people from re-selling gear they bought and no longer need because they acquired upgrade. All restrictions against bots and flippers will laso hurt people without tonts of currency.

" Then instead of nuking the trade system, address the castaway map and million of golds for 10-20 ex. This is always the type of irrational logic to burn a house to renovate the kitchen. You guys have tunnel vision and are ready to do anything it requires to meet your demands without seeing the big pictures. It's so annoying, why can't you stop a moment and analyze what you are asking for, for a moment. It's an absolutely ludicrous demand, and the only way it would see day is if somehow an ideolog infiltrated the GGG HQ, which is possible. So there you go, if you are really motivated in ruining the trade system, apply for a job at GGG and infiltrate them, work your way up the ladder and seize the means of production. |

" Can you explain or show an example? Would you like pay 5-6 div for a good bow or 20-50? You spend 5-6 div that you can not get back, or 20-50 div, and you will lose that money when trying to resell it? Also, people catching up with a late league start will not be able to afford it,the price would be more stable for late runners too, so it will bring more people into the game long term. |
